Welcome dear SGers of the World,

I've been thinking about religon & more specificly the Our Father Prayer. In the end the line is "thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven" What exactly does that mean I wonder? If infact there is a Heaven I will be the same as I am here on earth. Our that Heaven...

Oh the topic of religion! "Thy will be done..." I've aways understood it to mean that god's will is to be done which seems like an easy way to explain the bad things in life. "Oh your baby died? That must have been god's will." Which is one reason I have a problem with god being so "loving" yet allowing so many horrible things to happen. Did you ever see the movie "What Dreams May Come?" I liked their idea of heaven.... heaven is what YOU make it. Which means my dog will be there, something that many Christians don't believe since animals supposedly don't have souls. Spend a week with my dog and tell me she has no soul!

How was your 4th? Anything going on with possibly buying a condo? We spent much of the weekend trying to clean and straighten up since I now have a room full of my crap and his crap. Then we went to a friend's for food and drinks and poker and fireworks!

We're going to see Dinosaur Jr. tomorrow with some out of town friends, so that should be good. Then my niece's first birthday party is Sunday. I've never been a baby person, but she's at the age (well.... past the age) where she's learning things and noticing things and it's just a neat thing to watch. Plus, she's a super happy girl, which is always fun!

What's up with the love thing? Did you meet someone? Remember, time is most always your friend!

Happy Wednesday! kiss

I love Doves! They are amazing.

Thanks for the warm thoughts and compliments.

You are a true buddy. wink

Greetings SG readers,

Well, the Interpol show was all that I wanted it to be & more!!! The Doves sold-out & I'm happy for them!! Been listening to "Up the Bracket" Libertines a lot. The new Oasis is pretty good, it's a bit harder to swallow at first so I'm taking baby bites. Just finished Season 3 of "6 ft Under" I wish they'd hurry...

Good day SG viewers. Well, it's been awhile hasn't it? So, I saw the Pixes on Saturday night here in there home town. Frank really runs a tight ship on stage but, they were all smiles. Word is the new records on it's way. This week I have Interpol & Social Distortion back 2 back!!! Old 97's soon after & Doves also. I'll be moving...

Well, then there were nine. It's been rather dead over here for awhile? I picked up "With Teeth" & feel that the loss of Danny Loner has hurt NIN's future a lot. There are 3 stand out tracks among 12 or so. I love Gordie White but I don't believe Trent gave him much room to explore. NIN has gave way to A Perfect Circle...

yeah man, the sad thing is that the older albums always seem to outshine the newer workings.....i can hardly think of a band who's newest cd is better than their first 2 (depeche mode & new order are the only ones i can think of that got better after 3 releases..)
i am still working on getting the cds together for you. i am finishing a second dj set, so when its done, all the stuff will be sent smile

It is pouring outside right now! It started a few hours ago before wake up time. While I love hearing storms, the pup won't go outside to go to the bathroom (not that I blame her).

I have spent much of the past 2 weeks helping the boyfriend pack and move. We spent all weekend actually moving and cleaning his old house. I hate moving, especially when it's not my stuff! My mom is changing schools so I get to help her move school stuff the next 2 days. I'll be glad when it's over and I can relax!

The only other time I havelived with a boyfriend was not good. But it wasn't a good relationship to start, so I'm not too worried about this time. It's just those bad memories lurking in the back of my mind. Time to get over those, eh?

What's new in sunny Portland? I saw "Sin City" and "Star Wars" recently. "Sin City" was good visually, but that's about it. "Star Wars" seriously lacked a decent script. I swear some soap opera writer could have written more believable love scenes.

How goes the townhouse search? Searching for housing of any kind is a pain! I hope it goes smoothly for you!

Why is it that most bands seem to reach a point where people say "The last album I like was.... (insert random album name that is 5 albums old)." So sad.... not to say that some bands can't eventually recover, but many do not. I'm liking what I have heard of New Order's new album although I hadn't liked much since "Technique." I guess I just really like 80s music and some fro the early 90s most and no one seems to be making that anymore.

Happy short week! Do anything exciting over the 3 day?

Greetings,

Well, the Doves cancelled due to sickness & will return in June. I'm put on the guest list for the sold-out Interpol show in 2 months!! I'm thinking of ordering the Tindersticks 2 disc best of 04 from Tower? I saw on Ween's latest Quebec that Josh Freeze drums for them, I can't believe all the places he & Grohl & Reflin turn up!!...

I suck and for that I am sorry! You certainly did nothing to offend me... I just got caught up with life for a while, especially with finals last week. I spent last week and the week before doing a ton of studying because I realized I had a chance at getting 2 As in the 2 science classes I had assumed I would get Bs in. It was this big carrot, dangling in front of me.... saying "if you bust your butt, you might be able to get As." So, I busted my butt and did somehow manage to get As. Science classes don't come naturally to me so I always expect Bs. It was nice to see my work rewarded though. Now my new semester startes this week. Not even a week off. puke

How's your school going? I can't remember if you were taking the summer off or not... I don't think you were. So you ended up swinging some Interpol tickets after all? You'll have to let me know if they're as good as I've heard they are.

The boyfriend is moving in at the end of this month. He was going to move in when his lease ended in October but his roomie wanted to break the lease and their landlords were cool about it so I'll be living with a boy in a few weeks! Last time I did this (many years ago) it did not end well, so I'm a tad nervous about it. Of course, that relationship was bad also so that didn't help. It will be nice not having to trek back and forth between houses though.... that always sucks!

Do anything fun this weekend? Florida summer weather is starting to come full force.... highs around 85 all weekend and too much humidity! Bleh! I need to get some yard work done before it gets too nasty out there.

Alright... I'm off to take the pup to the vet. The classes I'm taking this summer are easier than last semester (sociology, american lit 2 and yucky speech) so I swear I'll be better at keeping up with you! Again, I'm sorry! I hate that you felt bad because I was a slacker! Talk soon!

Sunday May 1st, where does all the time go? Well, I've been alittle lax in the studying area but, must remedy that. The weather here is perfect, I couldn't ask for better. Been doing alot of house painting & such to prepair for summer. The Doves/ Mercury Rev show is tuesday!!! ALOT of new releases out this tuesday!!! Weezer should be interseting. Trent should be...

Well April is almost at an end. May is at the door. New stuff this tuesday. NIN, Ryan Adams (Double), Amiee Mann, Westerburg.
Well, take care.

i like the new order cd. i didn't like track 1 so when i heard that i was scared. but then it got better. to me, i will always like the older stuff more. but its a good cd. i just wish it had that "old new wave" feel to it like their older stuff dabbled in. i think it will grow on me too as i play it more. first impressions on music are never correct really. i also icked up the next 3 cure remastered cds. "pornography" is practically my all time fav. cure cd so i was thrilled to get it remastered with a whole extra cd of bonus raritities. depeche mode is done recording all their songs. now its all about post mixing and the final touches. hope to hear that album by fall.

Greetings,
Tonight I finished a "Early Years" mix of Ministry from 81-86. It's the New Waver within me that yearns for that sort of music still. I'll be starting on Lamb soon. Tonight I watched "Coffee & Cigarettes" by Jim Jarmusch & it was really quite good in a french new wave type black & white feel. Iggy Pop & Tom Waitts sit down &...

Ahhhhhh Ministry! I have to admit, their early stuff isn't my favorite. I'd probably have to choose their more industrial stuff. The last album I have of theirs is Filth Pig and I hate it. I don't know what they've been doing lately, but I don't think they're the Ministry I used to know and love.

I bought Coffee and Cigarettes on a whim. I didn't like all of it, but it's a good watch overall. The Bill Murray part was my favorite though!

I watched "American Psycho" the other night. I remember when I first discovered Bret Easton Ellis via "Less Than Zero" (first the movie, then the book). You'll have to let me know how The Informers is because I'm in need of some good reading!

Any news on theinternship? Is it a definite? Happy Wednesday!

Welcome SG friends,

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend. I've got my nose deep in my med homework except for at this moment I'm at a friends catching up on all the great music I've been missing. Doves, Garbage, Nick Cave, New Order, Mercury Rev. I guess Morrissey has a new live record too. Well. I bid you all a fine evening. wink
kelland:
What the heck... I really need to catch up on the tunes as well.

you have alot of really cute SG friends (not including myself !!) so i am reworking a few of my songs...my girlfriend is actually an amazing opera singer and we are working on a few tracks together, i will let you know when they are done, i will send you a copy.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner .
Hopefully I've messaged just about all of you today. I'm doing well, we move out of terminology next week & into codeing. I'm still above water mostly. Some of the parts of the body are over my head, like the brain so I'll stay away from that area. No new music to speak of I'd love...

oh yeah - correction - the DM track i sent you wasn't the one i was thinking of. i also did "dream on" - which was from a remix contest. the "waiting for the night" is my own bootleg mix (and you can tell i used alot of "strangelove" samples in the track for fun.)

Yes, go see Interpol! I've never seen them but a guy I knew swore they were amazing live!

If someone made a movie of the Sartre play, they'd probably ruin it. There have been times when I've read a book and thought "that would make an amazing movie!" Of course, I am no film maker and I don't know how to make things brief so, in the end, there would be an amateur 10 hour movie! biggrin And I am usually disappointed when someone finally makes a movie of great books. Grrr....

I used to have a great concert collection. Then my brother had his asshole friend move in with us and he stole most of them. It still makes me mad even though that was about 15 years ago! The others I don't wear and have boxed up. I don't know what I will ever do with them but I refuse to get rid of them!

As for school, I'm only about to be done with my AA. Then it's on to an undecided BA. I need to get my butt in gear and figure some stuff out! How's school going? Have all those med terms nailed? Any weekend plans? Happy Friday!

Greetings SG friends,

Well, tonight I saw the best play I believe I've ever seen & that says a lot as I've seen many. I saw "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Sartre at the Imago theater here in Portland. It was sooo intense & full of twists & turns. It was about 3 people in a room with a movable floor that sways from side to...

Yay for 98%! Isn't it nice when busting your butt pays off? I've been busy studying for a test and prepping to write a paper. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to write a contrast of two books so I've been reading a lot. I've read both the books before, but it's been a while so I figured I'd better refresh myself a tad.

The Sartre movie sounds awesome! We have a great local movie store here so I'll have to see if they have it. I used to love Sartre when I was in high school. I still have a magazine from the 60s that I found long ago that had a feature about him. God, I am such a pack rat!

Gainesville was good. All of my bf's friends are veg so the weekend consisted of lots of cooking and eating. The guy we stayed with is very into games so we played some games and did some biking. They were having an art show so we went there too. They have a show here that is supposed to be good that we went to maybe a month ago and I swear it was 15% food vendors. The one in Gainesville had more art and better art as well. Sort of weird that college town USA has a better art show than one that is supposedly nationally recognized. There are some days when I wish I had lots of money. Going to good art shows makes me wish that biggrin Then again so does going to the music store!

One of the few cool things Orlando has is a monthly movie in a park. It was last night, so we went to see "Rebel Without a Cause." I used to have the biggest crush on James Dean even though he died way before I was born! It's not the greatest movie, but ze bf had never seen it and it is a classic after all! Any classics you are a fan of?

How's the week going? How much of the semester is left? About a month? I think I only have 2 classes next semester before I have my AA. I need to have someone at school double check just in case, but it makse me happy. I feel like I've been in school forever. That's what happens when you can only take 2-3 classes a semester!

Any exciting weekend plans? Happy Wednesday to ya!

Oops! Just realized you said the Sartre movie was a play biggrin Wishful thinking I guess!

Sorry, still very much in anti-social mode.

Congrats on the 98%! smile

You know, I think I saw 2 plays in high school, and that's it. Oh, I take that back, I have been dragged to 2 different god-awful Seattle events that were painful to sit through. It would be really nice to see a good play at some point in my life. And an opera.

Gonna go enjoy the last few moments of sunshine out there.

miao!!

Welcome all curious eyes,

Well, I've now retained around 104 prefixes & suffixes with many more waiting in the wings. I'm starting to look around for an internship. Maybe chiropratic sounds hopeful. I've always met women in my classes but, this time appears to be not so. Oh well more time to study right. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks a bunch smile
It didn't really take me all that long to write. Generally everything comes to me on the spot, I feel the need to write and it all just sort of comes out at once. This took maybe half an hour to write, edited over a few days; coming back now and then to change words here and there, spell checking, ect. I guess when I'm inspired, it's really specific.

I keep a notebook in my car for occasions when something comes to me, and there are lots of pages of huge writing from me writing without looking while attempting to drive.

I did take TONS of English/Composition classes through high school and college. I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I didn't get a degree in anything, but I took a wide variety of English classes.

So anyway, thanks smile

hey hey !!
i have the massive attack soundtrack cd (with dog on cover) if thats the same one you are talking about. i love thier album mezzanine - it still blows my mind. the new order single is out i think april 26th or something, the full length in may. i really don;t know what to expect. if you think about it, every single album by them has been different. which i like about the band. i made myself a 3 cd comp of their stuff, disc one goes from 1980-1983 , 2nd is 1984-1987, 3rd is 1989-1993, so now i can finally make disc 4 - 2001 to 2005 !!! ahhhhhh i feel better already
p.s. - the new Beck cd is his best in years
