it's freezing in here. i'm really not into this crappy weather. whenever it rains a lot i get terrible allergy attacks. really. must be all the mold and gunk washing down the streets. at least it's just cold and dreary here. there's a store in Salem, NH in the small chain i work for and they were closed today because of emergency levels in the town. at least no roads washed out around here this time (last fall/winter there was a road within a mile of where i like that completely washed away). seriously, wtf. it's fucking May.
i started the design for a new cross-stitch. it's a Wonder Showzen design. it's going to be great. the main stuff is figured out, i'll probably start sewing later tonight, if i can stay awake. i'm goin to try to work out in a few minutes, i've gained weight and i don't like it one bit. then i'll probably take a quick shower and take a nap, then either end up sleeping through to the morning or wake up later and sew. or maybe working out will wake me up, that could happen.
i'm on a total Mars Volta kick right now. i had a used copy of Frances the Mute sent over from another one of our stores and it rocks so fucking hard. i'm going to have to buy a new copy of De-Loused in the Comatorium, no one's got it used (which is a sign that it's an incredible album). i tried looking for the new T Bone Burnett cd online but couldn't find a torrent and it seems my filemp3 account has expired. all they usually have is techno anyway, but still. we had a promo copy in the store and i really liked it and was considering asking my manager if i could claim it but he went and gave it to one of his friends. just like he did with the Paris Putumayo cd that i adored (that one probably went to a weirded-out girl, he's a creep like that). bastard. i'm not about to pay full price for something that i'm not even sure i love yet.
one cd i DO love is Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere. buy it NOW. it wasn't a very anticipated release by our stores, for some reason, but it's been a really high seller and finally went on sale this week. it sneaked into the top ten and it has Tool, the Chili Peppers, Snow Patrol, Neil Young, Godsmack and Paul Simon to contend with. pretty good for a slightly obscure hiphop/soul/funk album.
once my hair grows out some and the red part fades, i think i'll bleach it all and dye it purple. i know of a really nice hair dye that's available in the UK and i can get it pretty cheap on ebay.
my legs are really fuzzy. ew. i like feeling them when they're really fuzzy just as much as i like feeling them when they're smooth. not the in-between, though. i'm a freak.
at work we each get a "picks" section where we can put our favorite cds. dvds will fit, as well, but only standard movie cases. if bigger cases fit it would be all tv shows for me. i decided to make my picks interesting starting this week and do a different letter of the alphabet each week (well, certain obvious letters will be grouped together). logically, i started with A. so this week my picks are:
Aesop Rock - Labor Days
Autechre - i forget which, i don't even listen to them much, i just think they're interesting
Animal Crossing for the DS
And Now for Something Completely Different
i couldn't think of anything else i really liked that started with A, except for Arrested Development, which was waayyyy too big to fit. might make a sign for it though. i tried to squeeze the Andy Milonakis dvd in there but its just a little wider than a normal dvd case so it didn't work.
what would you pick that begins with A?

You work for Newbury?
This entire post could only come from an NC employee.
But th amazing thing about my awesome powers of deduction is that i actually guessed it when you said that everyone in your store was listening to Matisyahu in this thread.
Please tell me how awesome i am.
*mouse, in the Newton store.
