and live in the moment. It’s the best way to live, recognizing each instant as its own and appreciating its beauty. Too often, we are obsessed with another place and another time, so much so that we miss everything we can own by embracing the unending now. Don’t get me wrong. The future should not be forgotten. The past should still be looked to. Experiences, hopes, and dreams all have their place.
Just don’t forget to be present in the present.
Hi, everyone. I’ve been on here for a while and never really contributed anything to the site or about myself, so here’s an attempt to do one or the other.
I’m currently a student in medicine as well as an author. I blame a creator’s heart for both of these things. Writing itself is an act of making something new, and a creator does not revel in destruction and aims to set broken things right. I’m the quiet sort, and I’m content to be that way. I have a huge appreciation for art, though my tastes may not be so well-refined.
I believe that mastering ourselves is a goal that should be strived for by all of us, and that such a mastering requires mental and physical exertion and the highest practice of self-control. That makes me a great proponent of physical fitness, yoga, jogging, martial arts, and similar practices, although I am merely a dabbler in all of these. We are all born perfect. We can just choose to make ourselves more perfect.
I’m an animal lover and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, but I don’t get out as much as I would like with all the studying that must be done. Besides these things, I am, above all else, a son, a brother, and a friend. That’s just a little about me, and it’s really not enough to know who I am. Still, I hope it helps. I’ll leave you with an amazing song to check out. It’s Jason Mraz’ cover of “Fly Me to the Moon.”
All my hope for all the best things in life for you,
Matt-moo
