As a matter of fact, I did have a student with a crush on me. He asked me out early on in the semester but I told him I didn't date students. I told him "you're my responsibility until midnight December 15th." He sent me an email time stamped 12:03 a.m. on the 16th asking me out. He was 12 years younger than me but we actually made a go of it for several months. It was a Valentine's Day break-up, I'm afraid. I believed he needed to be with his 22year old buddies and I felt like an old timer at 34, way too old for his "rave" lifestyle. I did miss the sex for quite a while, though. Can't deny that it was fun. Now I'm teaching at a private Christian university where anything smacking of sex is deeply frowned upon. Those quakers take their celibacy pretty seriously.

i think the newer ipods have better battery life. mine is a 3rd generation & i think they are already up to a 6th generation. if you do buy one, definately buy an extended warraty!

amazing story and ain't it the truth sometimes the tuth lies in the simplest place. i mean seriously for all the millios and expert you can pull in there is usually a simple answer to be found if we're only willing to listen. fortunately i have learned that lesson on less expensive adventures but you got to admit the adventure was worth the experince and taught you things and gave you experiences you would have never had. thanks for sharing that.it is very hummbling to read.

also i could just picture you with a wooden leg eye patch and a corncob pipe as you layed out the story to a bunch of wet behind the ear fisherman. you truly are amazing. the more i learn the more i realize what an interstesting friend i have found in you.

i would love to do some cycling with you. i think i am going to have to switch to a long board this summer my board i have been riding was a 6' 11" with a thruster tail setup i loved it but it wants to sink on me too fast before i can pop up and i am going to have to relearn that since it's been awhile, but hell it i take care of that we can it it all!

I know what you mean about worrying about what you are looking like. Looking at the other pictures you have, why not get rid of the goatee? Your smooth skin might make you a bit more approachable? Just an idea.

Wow that is all i have to say is wow. That is incredible that you have the ability to do all of that. It always amazes me people who can tell the species, age quality, grain, carve by hand and simply do what you just described. I am always floored and somewhat envious, but we all have our gifts and abiities that we are strongest at. I am quite happy that for the most part I can tell you what species of tree i am looking at from its leaf and bark, but to take that to a block or sheet of wood and that to me is where the majic begins. I can tell the hardwoods from say pine and such, but after that I am incredibly hopeless.

Thanks for sharing such an amazing story and piece of history that I was not aware of!
