The Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard defines dread as the knowledge of what you must do to prove you're free, even if it will destroy you. His example is Adam in the Garden of Eden, happy and content until god shows him the Tree of Knowledge and says, "Don't eat this." Now Adam is no longer free. My mother was a heavy christian, as is most of my family. Half believed in beating god into you. The other half believed in at least the love aspect of the bible, but just couldn't get past the being judgmental aspect. The bible is a book that was put together 300 years after Jesus' death. Constantine deleted references to reincarnation because he thought that it would weaken the growing power of the church. There were saints who believed that they had lived before and would live again. My God, if there is one, a God that can create universes and things the human mind cant even fathom, he can write his own fucking book. He would not have an imperfect being such as man, if he is perfection, write his story. The day he come and talks to me and a book manifests in my hand, that's when I'll listen. The church put Galileo on house arrest for the rest of his life for saying that the earth revolved around the sun, and I'm supposed to listen to the church? They obviously don't know shit. A loving all compassionate God would not create a hell. If he is perfect in every way there would be no room for error such as fallen angels and man eating the fruit from the Garden of Eden. I believe in maybe a few theories; that God is more like an energy source, like a battery charging every atom in every thing you see, he has the capacity to be loving, hateful, and every emotion in between because we are God. This whole universe, like a dream, Gods dream, and energy does not dissipate it moves on and morphs into other things, hence the feeling of reincarnation and imprints and characteristics from other lives.
