Okay, here's my take on the situation.
I think it's foolish that we acted without UN support in Iraq, if it were any other permanent council member there would be an uproar, our country is hell bent on playing world cop, and the backlash is just behind the goose steps of our soldiers marching into Baghdad within the next month, there will be consequences for our actions, I have no doubts about that, there will be another terrorist attack(s) inside of the US, and I think this is definitely furthering the possibility that we will be at war with China within the next 20 years.
That aside, if we're going to be there, we need to do it quick, we need to eliminate the ruling Ba'ath party, briefly occupy the country, allow the CITIZENS to set up their own government, and withdraw as soon as possible.
We need to infuse the Iraqi economy with money, we need to rebuild their homes, they hate us because we bomb them, but they hate Saddam even more.
We have placed ourselves in a very precarious situation, our reputation of only being involved in military action and abandoning the "Target" after the conclusion is appalling..
The decade old UN sanctions on Iraq have only helped to bring the citizens of the country to their knees, the regime obviously was not severely affected by any of it.
There was alot of talk about "liberating" Afghanistan from the Taliban, and that we would help the Afghani people to rebuild their bombed out homes, but when the spotlight turned towards Iraq the people of Afghanistan, most noticeably the citizens of Kandahar were all but forgotten, Kandahar still lies in ruin, there is no formal government, and we have helped to rebuild nothing.
Hopefully our military will keep the bombing raids precise, and targetted, those people don't need anymore grief.
At the outset of this military action, I was opposed, and still am to an extent, Hussein is a tyrant, who like Stalin is not shy about maintaining an iron grip by killing his own people and terrifying them into subjugation, or even unleashing his chemical arsenal on his citizens and blaming us, so in closing, I just want to say..
If we are going to do this, we need to do it right.

No wonder we have remained friends for the larger portion of our lives.
I could not have said it better.
That being said....I have a die-hard American as a roommate, and he asked my beliefs on the war...and being the ass that I am, I pointed at my enormous Iraq flag hanging above my bed, and said, "I definitely support this war, no question about that bro." He didn't like that too much. Why? :-(
