Man what a week. Just today my dad, 70, is undergoing heart bypass surgery. It sounds like the most complicated part is over but he's still got a ways to go. The whole procedure was expected to take 8+ hours. That's an intense 8 hour day for the heart surgeon, with someone's life literally in his or her hands. Props to heart surgeons everywhere.

I always considered my dad rather healthy...nonsmoker, exercises regularly, etc. His dad, my late grandfather, had heart bypass surgery and went on to win the Senior Olympics in tennis. Me, I am stressing about genetics and whether heart issues are in my genetic cards.
