I'm still getting used to the new site design, but I'm okay with it so far.

I've been working part time in a law office, doing clerical type work, editing documents, arranging files, etc. The guy I work for is cool; the only downside is his office is on the far south end of town, so it's a long drive, but he's okay with me...

'My dad, 70, made it through his heart surgery very well. He was home a week after surgery and is doing well.

In other positive news, my (soon to be ex) wife and I agreed to a split custody plan which means more time, and more overnight visits, with my kids.

Oh yeah, marriage equality happened since I last posted, too. Welcome to the 20th...

Man what a week. Just today my dad, 70, is undergoing heart bypass surgery. It sounds like the most complicated part is over but he's still got a ways to go. The whole procedure was expected to take 8+ hours. That's an intense 8 hour day for the heart surgeon, with someone's life literally in his or her hands. Props to heart surgeons everywhere.

So as one who is new to the whole friends-with-benefits thing, does anyone have any advice on how best to make it work?

In the recent past, my depression has led me to drive away people I once counted as friends, and I DON'T want to fuck this up; I need friends and I love benefits.

So, all suggestions and tips are welcome.

As someone who often feels lonely and depressed, one of the things I've needed most is local friends. My depressing and apparently needy nature drove away a couple of people I had considered good buddies and I was basically left with no local support network.

I am pleased to report not only making a new friend but turning it into a friends with benefits situation....

Our 10-year-old got suspended from school for a day today.
He is in grade 4 and has been diagnosed with ADHD. Earlier this year, he and his classmates got their first lessons on anatomy, puberty, etc, and since then, my kid has been borderline obsessed with some of the concepts, to the point he talks to other kids all the time about it, which has...

My attorney said it was a win, a good result today.

Felt differently to me though. Yes I did walk out with May's spousal support check in hand (my wife, who is a federal employee for the Dept.of the Interior, always was the higher earner). But the amount I receive per month was cut $450, because of shared expenses for daycare for our youngest son....

My soon to be ex wife and I have a spousal support hearing tomorrow, with her $1700 in arrears. Does that seem shit-all stupid to anyone else? Hopefully it works out to my advantage and the judge gives her a legal smackdown for violating the court order to pay. It's yet another attempt on her part to break my balls and drag shit out.

We've...

Rejection, once again.

For my new job I was working under a 2-week probationary contract. Learned today it wasn't being renewed so I am again out of work and dealing with rejection.

Yeah, the pay was low, but low pay beats no pay, and I got on well with my group of coworkers.

Fuck. Hope something else comes along soon.
