So I guess it's Earth day coming up, which coincides with some odd little things I was batting around in my head about energy conservation. For example, in office buildings, turning off lights after hours, or putting in motion/sound detectors to keep the lights on. I'm sure the cost of implementing that couldnt be any more than a years worth of wasted power. I was also thinking about having toilets similar to one I remember freom when I was in Japan, where the top had a faucet and a small basin, so that when you fluched, the water that fills up the tank for the next use can be used to wash your hands. Ingeniuos and simple. Another pipe-dream idea would be to incorporate solar panels onto the roof of houses, office buildings (heck, in office buildings replace every second window panel with a solar collector) not as a sole means of power, but as a means to assist.
