ADDITION: Yesterday my flight home was delayed by about 3 hours. This is 3 hours spent sitting on the runway. Add to this the shrill screaming babies, and the sitting next to someone whos mass encroached onto my seat. The only thing I dislike about flying is being forced into such close proximity with ther people.

You know, I've been at an impasse for the last few days about what to put in my journal. I wanted to write something, but nothing was coming to mind. Figured I should put something down as I'm heading home tomorrow for the holidays. i'm glad I have a pretty non-celebratory family. We don't make big deals about holidays, birthdays, things like that, unless they're a milestone of sorts. (My dad made the comment at his 50th when someone told him 'well you only turn 50 once' "well I only turned every other year once too') I got my holiday shopping all done, which wasn't all that hard, considering I only buy for my immediate family, and for the girlfriend. My parents flat out ask me for a wishlist, which I can appreciate, and they're practical enough to get that a little of the surprise value being lost is worth me getting something I want and will use. I get to see my dog, pick up my last remaining personal effects I still have kickin' around home, (like my winter jackets) and I get to spend some nice relatively stress free time with the family.
In other news:
my D&D group is going through a few *ahem* bumps, and it's looking like i'm going to be the DM pretty soon (even though I love my asshole half-orc fighter who the current DM punishes for wanting to fight things like a warrior type instead of a rogue type)
Work is going fairly well, I find for the stressful times, I still like waitering a lot more than retail or collection office work, and I'm getting good shifts.
I've been feeling absolutely ravenous the last little while regardless of how much I'm eating, which I think is in large part thanks to me finally beating my coca-cola addiction. I drank average of about 2 litres a day, so now with that many calories Im used to having cut out of my diet, my body is freaking out.
I tried to think of a playlist suggestion, but because I've just been listening to the same albums repeatedly, Ill suggest a couple songs:
Existentialism on Prom Night- Straylight Run
The workers sing a song of mass production- Matthew Good (although there are so many of his songs I love for so many different reasons. If you can find it, the live version of avalance rules)
Cmon Cmon- The Von Bondies
Electric Sweat- The Mooney Suzuki
Gender Bombs - The Stills
Do You get high - Holly McNarland
Come on Lion - Sarah Harmer
Dust in the wind (cover)- Sarah Brightman
-That should do for now, if you get any of these songs and like them, feel free to let me know my taste in music doesn't suck.
That's about all I have to say about things at the moment. Merry Christmahannukwanzaaka!
