I am sorry he's being a jerk, and Angela came along. Karma's a funny thing. Sometimes it puts you through huge trials because a bigger payoff is coming around the corner. And sometimes it just tests you for no apparent reason. Hang on to the fact that you are a good person. Sometimes people lose sight of good things (and people) when they are not secure with themselves and where they are in life. He can't see that what he is doing to you is the same thing that was done to him, and how much he hated it. He may or may not come back around to you. But if he does, you have to decide how worth it it is to you to accept him back and risk the eventual hurt again, or to cut him loose and stand firm. Tough call. I've had this happen more times than I can remember, and I've lost a lot of friends over this, and it really hurt at the time when I refused to deal with them again and be the driving force in the relationship (it needs to be two-way after all), but now I don't miss them, have moved on, and have new friends who are as dedicated to me as I am to them.

That being said, I've also seriously lowered my expectations from my friends. I used to expect lots from my friends and they were always going to end up, eventually, coming up short. I finally faced it that I was just asking too much from them and am happier now for it. I'm not saying that this is the case for you, I'm just...pontificating.

Hang in there and do the things that will make you the happiest in the long-run, even if it tears you heart out right now, in the short-run.

I don't know the laws outside of California, but you could probably get a restraining order on the psycho ex girlfriend. In CA, if you don't have witnesses, you have to have your own documentation and usually have to pay a fine, unless there is police documentation. LIke I said though, I don't know about the laws where you are, just a suggestion. I went through a similiar situation with a friend who's ex g/f thought I was in love with him. She totally ignored the fact that I'm GAY (shakes head). She broke into my car, and that's when I got my restraining order on her. It's comforting to have a piece of paper that says you can't come near me or the police will arrest you!
If she's physical, I would also recommend carrying pepper spray. My friend's ex physically confronted me a few times, and thank god I never had to mace her b/c other people intervined, but just a thought.
I'm sorry for you hon. This is a shitty situation. It took me and my friend about 2 years to be good friends again, with trust and all (and no psycho ex) but it can happen.

I'm so sorry things are so rough for you right now. It helps me to repeat to myself "this too shall pass" when it gets bad. Also, and this may sound hokey but I hope it comes across right. If you've been in grocery that long, you should consider looking for work at a distribution center or headquarters office to get away from working weekends. The retail experience is welcome in virtually every department - customer service, retail pricing, item maintenance, sales, merchandising, and buying - at least where I work.

The only time us Asheville people ever see other SG memebers is at events in Charlotte and Raliegh (Though you might wanna consider checking out the SGCharlotte group for more closer-than-4-hours-away events)
