Just made it back from a ~50 mile trek in the high Sierra of California. Kings Canyon National Park to be exact. With my lil' brother, who, though an accomplished runner, is no match for me on the mountain slopes. He described me as "powerful," which was very satisfying, since I'm not only older but slightly fatter. Anyways, four days, three nights, over 10,000 feet total elevation change, one docile bear, one rattlesnake, one marmot (cute!), a million mosquitoes (and no mosquito spray - fuck), and in the end, I came home one pound HEAVIER than when I left. WTF. Anyways, great trip, and now it's time to get back to work.
