Off to the Pacific tomorrow - first Taiwan, then three Hawaiian Islands. Activities will include: visiting friends and family, camping, taking photos, eating potentially strange foods (duck tongues?), collecting moths, presenting at a biology conference, museum work, and lots and lots of swimming. Back in a month.

Just made it back from a ~50 mile trek in the high Sierra of California. Kings Canyon National Park to be exact. With my lil' brother, who, though an accomplished runner, is no match for me on the mountain slopes.
