I am returned from the frozen north! Spent last weekend in Orkney with work folk. We visited the Ring of Brodgar and Skara Brae, sadly on what even the locals admitted was one of the worst days of weather they've had this winter. Despite the driving rain and wind to blow you all Mary Poppins into the distance, it was absolutely beautiful.

The plan to update more often did not go well. Le sigh. In my defense, I have been pure dead busy, like:
(steel yourselves for some reverse-chronological-order bullet point action)
- on Saturday, we DJ'd our friend's wedding reception at the swank Alasdair-Grey-muraled Oran Mor. A great time was had by all (although that probably had little to do with out selection of PUNK! RAWK!...

Ambassador? Does that mean I need to bring the Ferrero Rocher next time?
tsui:
No the blokeys right, but the 3rd of April deadline is for the discounted fee of 230, if you wait till the 17th it goes up to 350.
You need any help with planning, I know this inside out now. Is it similar to mine or more classical like a play?

Maybe Im the only one who does that. Hrm.

That's definitely a good idea to read the graphic novel first. I love it and I was still okay with the film. It could have been better but it's hard to cram it all into two hours. I'm just glad it was made, it wasn't an embarrassment and they got two good actors for the lead roles.
You're not a big fan of frequent journal updates, I see.

"Well, the 'Brew will tend to lead to slavering, and stumbling, and waking up to an asbo on the doormat.."
That sounds like a typical episode of Rab C Nesbitt, without the asbo though since they're a relatively recent and crap invention. At least you don't see the pink elephant.
I rarely post on the Current Events section, but get drawn to reading it with the same morbid facination as a car crash. I should have learned by now.

I'm declaring a comment amnesty on myself. after this journal, back to square one and everyone gets a relpy.

So, in the last..ages, i've:
- DJ'd a night for the first time (for FIVE DAMN HOURS). People danced, and only minor bleeding from the ears was reported.
- Got in a lift with Salman Rushdie
- Got in a revolving door...

Yeah it was lots of fun. Highlights included throwing a little parachute man from a bridge in Edinburgh. And covering Annalee's kitchen ceiling with little men who had sticky hands and feet. Going into work on Tuesday was not fun.

You are right.
Just a shame that my rod is broken, and I never catch anything anyway.......
I did the cowardly thing of letting her down with a text message. Classy I know.
In fact, saying I let her down is not entirely true either. A female friend composed the text for me and I sent it....... Just gets better doesn't it!!!!
