Okay. I'm due an update. I figured I'd give everyone an update on the comic book that I am working on. First, and I know a few of you will ask, but RaleighBoy won't be the primary artist on the book. I'm hoping to use him on a later project, but I don't think it's feasible on this one at this point.
So for the past couple of weeks, I've been doing a formal search to find an artist whose style will fit in line with the twisted images in my head. I got over 100 submissions, and finally selected a talented fella by the name of Stan Yan.
We're now in the process of finalizing a contract and getting to work in earnest on the book.
One of the things I had a couple of the shortlisters do was draw a three-page sequential from the script. Here is what Stan did--I hope you like it!
The book is called SubCulture, and is being published by the company that I'm managing editor of, Ape Entertainment
The book also has a website, which can be found here.
If all goes well, we hope to have the first issue out in time to peddle it at the Small Press Expo in Baltimore in mid October.
One personal tidbit--I'd like to give an early, preliminary shout out to Vuokko, who has given me permission to use some of her art as inspiration for one of the characters in the book.
