So! Update!
I'm currently rocking out with dreads, and I'm debating taking them out for a Gogo audition for Ultra Music Festival.
Thoughts?
This is about where my hair is without dreads...
Ok, so!
I also just got a membership at the YMCA. I have never worked out in my life. This is all new to me!
Obviously, I have a spine injury and it makes exercise very difficult- I have to be very careful.
This is where I am, without suckin' it in as it were..
And this is my old 19 yr old figure I'm aiming for..
Last night was my start of the work-out routine. I'm going to do yoga Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights for an hour in a free class at the Y, and after I'll be walking on the treadmill. Last night I walked over a mile!! This is amazing and fantastic! Usually I'm soooo sore and achey I don't hardly stand or walk at all!
This morning was the first since the car accident over 5 year ago that I woke up sore.. everywhere EXCEPT my back!
I am loving the feeling of getting healthier. I'm using hcg, aiming for a paleo-diet, doing yoga 3 times a week, and I'm going to try and aim higher and higher every time I walk on that treadmill! In the next week or two I might increase my dedicated time to 5 days a week, doing aquatic fitness for arthritis on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I figure I should let my body get used to doing more than sitting around on a computer before I overload and hurt myself- that's why I quit physical therapy and yoga every time in the past! Over-doing it. Not this time.. COME ON TEENAGE BODY! I'm gunna get it, damn it!
(side note: I went to the doctor today and something I said about my pain and how it feels and is now radiating made my doc think twice... suddenly, after all this time, I said the one thing that might produce the miracle of greatly reduced pain! The doc believes I may greatly benefit from a steroid injection in my hips and SI joints... It likely won't make all the pain go away, but those two spots are 2 out of 3 or 4 of the worst locations I feel pain! Cross your fingers! January 8th I'm seeing the head honcho at the office and he will decide what we should do from there. I was given an order for more Xrays... Send me all the good energy you've got!!)
I think sometime later this week or next I will also be taking on some foster bunnies. Exciting! They were at a shelter in Emporia, where they still use the gas chamber to kill the animals.. so inhumane... and these poor babies are far too precious to die, anyway. Foster kids are not allowed to interact with my kids, so at least I won't have to worry about an increased amount of clean-up. They are both/all litter box trained! Also, Mitsy getting territorial and forgetting some of her training occasionally is about to end- she gets fixed on Friday the 21st! Since I'm taking in foster babies, the House Rabbit Society in KCMO has a wonderful woman sponsoring Mitsy so I can get her fixed. <3 What a great feeling! I am saving the babies just because it is the right thing to do, and now Mitsy is going to enjoy the benefits of my good Karma! Woo!
I was gifted a digital camera for an early xmas gift, now I just need a memory card... I want to get into doing self-shot sets on Zivity, buuuuuuuut I need a memory card first. So if anyone wants to help out.. ^-^ lol that would rock!
The only negative thing I have to report... there's something wrong with my car, either relating to the rotor, brakes, or hub on the front passenger side... grrrrrrrrr! I had a whole weekend planned, and it's not looking like I can get anything done on it until Saturday... fuck fuck fuck! Maybe a miracle will happen and I'll find a way to get it looked at sooner. We'll see. I might have to postpone my Des Moines trip...
So there you have it, the good, the bad, all the stuff that's happening to me right now.

The dreads are kinda YOU, right? But you think you need to ditch them for a job?
madilynn:
not just a job... GoGo dancing for the top 10 DJs in the world in Miami Florida with flights and hotels paid for plus a daily pay-rate. I would pretty much shave my head if I knew it would get me hired!
