I have a computer of my own again, although not all of my files and programs yet. I have my music directory back and that's all i really care about. And access to the interweb at any hour. Huzzah.
So, OMG. I have so much stuff to update and old news to fill in that i haven't had the chance to mention, so i'm just going to start with a few old things:
1. For starters, i've been a naughty neglectful mouse in not informing you all about Aberdeen City. I started to write about it when their new cd dropped a few months ago but kept getting sidetracked.
"The Freezing Atlantic" is easily the best local album of the year, and no matter what part of the country you are from you should find a copy and pick it up. At the very least grab their EP from iTunes!
And i say this because they are amazing. And not because the front man is my coworker.
Yes one of my very coworkers is the handsome singer/writer for this awesome group and we are all just in shock of this amazing thing happening in our midst.
But here's the really exciting part:
They just recently got back from a west coast tour where they were opening for...
RASPUTINA.
I die.
How bizarre and awesome is that?
I gave him some cds to prepare and in return he's given me stories and it's all just. Unreal.
2. Yes. I do appear in the Dresden Doll's Paradise DVD. At the very end of the documentary, look for our man Quiescence who will be speaking to the camera. I, representin' in my SG tank, am to his right grinnin' like a dork. And then moments later they return to us and I am full in the shot and i look gawd awful.
BUT you can pick me out in the front row during several songs. I am glowing and my little SG symbol stands out and i look cute enough for film. I am most notable during "War Pigs" right before they start over. I am unfortunately nodding my head most uncool-like. But i look ok, at least.
3. I kicked so much ass at work for Xmas i am now basking in the love at work. My body preceded to pay me back for this by giving me some sort of terrible disease ON XMAS which stayed with me over a week. I still feel sluggish. Which is why i will end this update here for now and get me to bed.
P.S. I would like to add my voice to the choir for "best music of 2005" in possibly my next post but knowing me i will never get around to it. I'll just nurture and annotate my list in my head when i'm at work or driving, but then come home and play City of Villains instead.
