SNOW! Glorious, beautiful, heavenly snow!
I keep hearing people whining about the weather, but those who are complaining the loudest are those who haven't spent a winter in Ottawa. Every year Torontonians complain as though the world's coming to an end because there's a few centimetres of snow on the ground. They get snow days and no one shows up for work or school. In Ottawa I had to walk uphill both ways, barefoot! I'm especially looking forward to the Christmas season this year because I'll be more into it with the baby around. Last year I was feeling kinda sad that working 9 to 5, Monday to Friday made the season fly by since I spent so little time thinking about it. It's a wonderful time of year, so I look forward to savouring it.
Holy new profile layout, Batman!
It's a good thing I read that post on the boards a couple of weeks ago and saved my profile information. (Suckers.) Updating my Top Ten is a bitch, though, with the character limit that they don't warn you about, and then they dump all the stuff you just typed so you have to start again. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, it just bothers me that to achieve the 125 character limit I won't be able to provide proper attribution to my favourite books. Apparently the emoticons don't work anymore if you click on them. At least they aren't working right now, but I'm sure that will get sorted out.
'Tis the season
Many of you will be stressing and/or freaking out over the next few weeks. Please remember that the world won't come to an end if you take time for yourself to relax and regain your sanity. This is supposed to be fun! Make sure that your expectations for yourself and others are realistic. If you're not looking forward to doing something, ask yourself if you really need to do it. You'd be surprised at how much better December can be if you only do the things that make you happy.
