I enjoyed the concert, though the sound wasn't so great. It was partly due to being an outdoor concert, but I really think the person in charge of the sound didn't quite get everything right. I'd definitely see them again, and hopefully get better tickets next time.
The neatest part for me was that Maynard (in black, no lights on him) stayed in the... Read More
I've had various Michael Jackson songs stuck in my head over the last few days. I don't mind.
I'm about halfway through Watchmen (the graphic novel) and oy. It really is a heavy read. I'd been warned, but I'm not even sure if I like any of the characters enough to continue on. I will, of course. My husband would never let me hear the... Read More
The Billy Mays meme was really funny until this happened. Who will he the 6th? Or does the chick that is suspected of pulling a murder/suicide count as a celeb by proxy?
Driving lessons, again, because my licence expired ages ago. I have to start all over since we have graduated licensing here. I haven't needed it, living in Toronto, but family vacations have become really cumbersome. The train is great, but getting there (and on time) is a huge hassle with two small children.

After them, there's only David Bowie left on my list of bands that I Must See Live.
I said to my husband the other day that I was having a "George Bailey moment". I've been looking into teaching English in Japan again, but it's really complicated to plan something like that with a family, cats, and all this stuff I've accumulated in my life so far. I keep wondering what my life would have been like if I'd made different choices, or... Read More
For the first time in many years, I actually feel generally happy these days. Not that there aren't things in my life I'd change - there are many things I wish were different. Just that for once, I'm not dwelling on them.
I'm in spring cleaning mode, with a vengeance. At least six bags of clothes to donate, a bunch of things (knickknacks, trinkets and sundries). The apartment has been cleaned from top to bottom, and we're decluttering like mad.
I just need to get my husband to clean the BBQ and we're set!
