The cat's a cuddler, but a damned independent one, of course. Just the sort for me.
I've actually been pretty productive lately, far less of my normal goofing off, but less time working on my own pet projects.
I was thinking about your last post today. I am nearly defined by my dislike for repeating myself. It always seems to be with folks whom are on the way to getting under my skin. The O's seem born for that role, especially the REMF ones.
DC is a 12 hour train ride from me, yet I rarely get my butt there.
A lot of Cormac McCarthy, and Robert E. Howard. The latter I can just take, purple prose and silly male and female archetypes. Pulp stories. The former I really enjoy, spare, descriptive, about the South West.
I have Inga Muscio on deck, it's going to be a tough read, I think. Also, the Dalai Lama's The Universe in a Single Atom.
There was this little cat wandering outside my apartment so I fed him, and gave him some water. Now he will not go away. He hangs around my apartment. I hung up posters in my complex. No one has claimed him. I put up ads, even on Craig's List, no one has showed interest. I really do not want to call animal control. 8 out... Read More
Depends on how you feel about IT. A lot of folks have romantic notions about earning a living doing what they love most, but if you love something that has limited commercial opportunities, having to figure out how to grub a meager living from that thing you love doesn't always turn out to be so much fun. There are plenty of great job opportunities in IT - the issue is whether or not you would enjoy working in that field, even if it's not the thing you love most. But if you enjoy IT, there's absolutely nothing wrong with doing it for a living and using that income to support a serious art avocation.
I very much liked Snow White and the Huntsman. I love adventure stories.
I had a rough week, but it had a happy ending. I ran the Army Birthday 10 miler Friday morning, then went to see Lady Antebellum/ Darius Rucker that night. We got there late which upset me because we missed Thompson Square which was the only group I wanted to see. $13... Read More
I felt bad paying 12 bucks a beer yesterday at the reggae festival I went to. Now I feel a little better. I seriously need to buy a flask, one that won't show up in metal detectors.
Yeah, I get out of my exercise routine, I turn into a mess, too.
That's a good time, I wish I had run it. Boo for grumpy and it appearing to be related to not making derby. I also want to take boxing, but may wuss out and take aikido instead.
I still have not seen Snow White, but my plan is to catch a matinee this week.
Now every time I use my computer the kitty climbs on the chair and takes up the whole seat. I am sitting on the edge of the seat. It is pretty uncomfortable, but I love him already so he wins. Going to see Snow White and the Huntsman tomorrow, and next Friday I am going to my first country concert. More social than I have... Read More
