So I leave for home in about 45 hours. Bad ass.
I found some CDs that I either thought I lost or forgot about. One of them was from a composition that I took with this really famous Jazz writer and it was great to listen to it since it reminded me of lots of good stuff from that class and just better times when I was writing more and able to have my works played/recorded/performed. Oddly enough it's damn near impossible to do that when you work for the Army, because I'm in the BAND where they are supposed to play MUSIC. yea...
I also found an album that I played on for a friend a while ago, and I thought I lost my only copy of it. It's a pretty decent metal album and I was totally satisfied with my mega tracking. I tracked almost the entire album in one session and then came back for one more session to track the monster 18min long piece. It was a good time now that I look back on it, but while I was there I was a bit discontent that I didn't have as much input in the writing process, but my parts did their job and helped the album come out well.
I should be finding out within the next month or so whether or not I got into the graduate program at Brown University which will be bad ass if I get in and get all the money I need. I also planned things out so that I'll be 3/4 done with my PhD by the time I leave the army in June and I can finish the rest of it while I'm at Brown and use the work from that degree to pretty much write my dissertation.
I also find out today about the guard unit I am trying to join. So things aren't too bad on a personal level, but work is shitty right now. The people who control my unit (which isn't anyone in the unit) are being gianormous cocksocks and restricting everything we do, even though we out perform every other unit in that battalion. Oh well I only have to deal with the Bull shit till June.
MARCH I GET NEW INK!!! If anyone reading this is planning on being at the Frankfurt Tattoo Convention let me know.
