Cradle of Filth was pretty dope last night in Frankfurt. Got to take one of my soldiers to his first concert so that's cool especially since he isn't going home for the holidays. There are definitely some differences between German and American metal shows:
1.) When people step on parts of you or shoulder you they tend to apologize...In Germany (or at least at this concert in Frankfurt) not so much
2.) In the states people that are really tall tend not to stand directly in front of the shortest people in the audience.
3.) There was a guy walking around selling Bread, Pretzel, and other Baked Goods.
So the concert was still cool and it was awesome seeing how things happen in another culture. The mosh pit was totally different from what I'm used to seeing and people seemed to be more into seeing the people play the music which is awesome because concerts are about the music.
Aside from that I should be going up to visit farbtupfer in Kln at some point soon. Germany tends to be a lot better when you're with people from the area and that speak a lot of the language. I can at least be in a store or restaurant and get by, but I have no conversational skills in German, so it's cool that I'll be able to see some of a great city with someone that knows it.
Sunday I go to Paris to see the Rite of Spring and have some good wine and food. So this weekend and the next couple weeks should be awesome and filled with lots of fun travel. I might drive somewhere in Germany to see Christmas at one of the big castles or just to drive around the "black forest." Germany is a great looking country and really fun to drive around, so if you get a chance fly over, rent a car, and enjoy.
