Despite the best efforts of politicians to depress me (what the hell was Theresa May doing when she spun a totally distorted Human Rights legislation story at the Tory party conference that would have made even a Sun editor blush?) I have had a good few days, even though the sun has gone and the rain has set in.
It was my birthday this week and I have spent most of it completely switched off from work and from thinking much about anything, apart from my general excitement at doing a natural-light shoot with Etana tomorrow in what sounds like it will be a brilliant location!
We put together a cracking couple of sets a few weeks ago that also yielded this image of her, which we both liked a lot:
What a beautiful look she has.
On top of that, I am pressing on with some design work for a theatre company that is reviving the musical classic "The Stirrings in Sheffield" that recount the true story of Victorian outrages in the steel city that saw trades unions in disputes, assaults, a murder and even gunpowder dropped down factory chimneys. The events so scandalised Victorian society that a royal inquiry was set up. I tried to capture some of the threatening aspects in the poster I did for the play.
And later this month I will be shooting the beautiful Blue Sapphire in what promises to be an unusual and original way! No spoilers, but it is going to be a very unlikely setting! This is one from a shoot I did with her earlier this summer.
The News Quiz team are tearing a strip off Theresa May on the radio as I type this. Got to be the comedy gift of the year to date
