Wow, alot's happened to me since last I updated. I've moved twice, once into a house I didn't even get to see before I moved in and turned out to be a massive fleabag shithole. I hated it from the moment I walked in the front door. It doesn't help that I didn't like a majority of my roommates there, and that they live like...

Sorry to be a random weirdo commenting here, but I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed reading your intelligent and carefully detailed response to Tearsunending's post in the Ex-Christians group. It seems that a lot of the time, discussions between the religious and the non-religious devolve into ugliness and mudslinging, and it's incredibly refreshing to see the reasonable, well-considered answers you gave.

Warped Tour was a fucking trip. I had so much fun. Getting to see so many great bands in one afternoon is awesome. Billy fucking Idol was there! I didn't think he was going to be at the Minneapolis one. But yeah, Billy Idol, Dropkick Murphys, Offspring, Mest, Fall Out Boy, etc, etc. Just a blast.

I dyed my hair bright red for the event...

sounds like you had a blast. i went about four years ago and got to see AFI and the Misfits (though not really the misfits, more like Jerrry Only and then Robo from Black Flag and one of the Ramones....Marky?). it was a good time. started out really hot and then just poured rain. NOFX and Bad Religion didn't even play, which sucked a lot. anyway, glad to hear you had a good time. take it easy.

I have to move in 2 weeks. That kinda sucks. But other than that, life is good.

When you can't see straight, and this simple message takes 10 minutes to write, that's the mark of a good night.

I heard news today that completely bummed me out. There was a 5-year-old girl named Evelyn Christie that disappeared from her home about a week ago. They had what I heard was the biggest manhunt in this state's history to find her. Well, they finally found her, floating in the river. You hear about this stuff more and more these days, and normally it doesn't...

Alkaline Trio was an amazing show. Their new album's great stuff, and they played a lot of stuff off of it. They really don't play the songs I expect them to at shows, though. They did play quite a few older songs, but not the ones I like better or would say are their best. Not that the songs they played were bad or anything....

awesome. where did you go see them? i need to pick up the new album. also, as a State fan, have you checked out Reno 911 or the show Stella? Stella will soon be on comeday central and it seems to have the rest of the state cast....reno having the other folks. pretty funny stuff.
flowerofromance:
I saw it in a record store in Chicago, I can't remember the name of it. Maybe there's a website that sells them? They were pretty awesome. Good luck finding one if you choose to do so. smile

I've become really obsessed lately with the band Muse. I grabbed their latest CD a couple of weeks ago after hearing "Stockholm Syndrome" on the radio and being completely blown away. I've heard they're basically Radiohead Jr., but I've never listened to much Radiohead, so I don't know if that's true or not. They're good, that's all I claim to know.

I saw Natual Born...

I could almost rent my room out as a sauna. When the sun's going down, it shines right in my window and turns the room into a furnace. Even with the window open and a box fan blowing in full-blast, it's still almost more than I can bear. Oh, and our wonderful landlord hadn't gotten around to fixing our AC since... oh, last summer. Or...

My roommate started at his Real Job today. He's starting at over twice what I'm getting now, probably better benefits and an actual avenue for advancement. I don't really envy that right now, but it makes me wonder when (if?) I'll ever get my shit together enough to finish school and get a decent job, not just living by the day. Hell, I'm getting a...

Its a King of the Hill reference and its possibly my old man that you have seen use it also. When we got the account I had never been the member of any "online community" before so when I started posting on the boards and in groups I didnt realize how my comments would be associated with the name, when it was all said and done we each have an account now and I got to keep the original (with the original spelling which has been his for a very long time really) and he had to spell his Rusty Shackelford

Woohoo, I'm posting this from my new computer. It's not blisteringly fast, but compared to my piece of shit 5-year-old Compaq, it's nice.

Congratulations! I am still with my shitty one! tongue

5 year old Compaq huh? Good stuff...

I'm happy with life right now. It's not fantastic, but for some reason (or many small reasons) it feels better than it has in a while. It's smooth sailing. I don't want it to last forever, but I like it right now.

Always good. biggrin

The last few days have been lively, to say the least. It all started Tuesday night. I haven't closed a bar in weeks, and not on a weeknight in months. It'd be a stretch to say I needed it, but it felt so damn good. Mostly my one circle of friends goes out and does the same thing week after week. I really hate having...

uhhh i know what you mean about going to the "bigger" shows. when i went to see AFI and the Blood Brothers in Chicago it took so fucking long just to get inside to stand and wait. glad to hear you had a good time though. hope they did "hitchin' a ride" i've always loved that song. i hear rumblings of a DSMoines gettogether, you game?
