I have some news you may not want to hear. I was skimming IMDB today, and found that they're making a movie out of A Scanner Darkly (which I haven't read, but it's Phillip K. Dick, so I'm sure it's good). Cool, right? Until I noticed first cast member listed: Keanu Reeves. I'm... sorry, man. A man should never have to receive, or give, news like that.

Sorry, I already have plans for Sunday. Some friends and I are hitting the Warped Tour in Minneapolis that day. Thanks for the invite, though.

I saw Alk3 in Minneapolis, which is a fair jaunt from Ames and back in one night. Great show, though. The new album sounds quite similar to the rest, but probably most so like Good Mourning. It's definitely worh picking up.

I haven't seen Stella yet, if it's on, and I've only seen a little of Reno 911. Stella's got me excited, though, since it has Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter on it (who's the third?), and they were always fantastic.

Are you going to the thing in Des Moines on Saturday? It seems like there's almost no interest in going. I might go anyway, just because it's a half-hour from me and I know I won't be doing anything better with a Saturday afternoon.

No, they didn't play Hitchin' A Ride. Most of their set was off of American Idiot, but they did throw in a lot of the old favorites like Basket Case, Long View and Good Riddance. I've never seen the Cell Center packed like that, and I've been to quite a few shows there. But it was still good.

As far as the DSM gathering, yeah, I'm down. No one wants to step forward and commit to a date and time, though.

Heye. Hehe, well it looks like my question has been briskly swept under the carpet and they have moved on like nothing happened at the Horror group! Yeah, it's a great film, pretty depraved but hey, good all the same! Hah, well I make a point of trying not to get too drunk if i'm listening to old music these days it can get a bit teary.

The new Alkaline Trio is called Crimson, and it drops in stores on the 24th. It's already on the 'net, though, and it sounds great. They're also going back out on tour, and have some dates up. I'm already planning on going to the one in Chicago on the 18th.

Ooh, both those trailers look very good. I still have some hopes for Episode 3, too. The story doesn't look too bad, and no matter what, it'll be eye candy.

Batman looks to be fantastic. Christian Bale is amazing, and Cillian Murphy was great in 28 Days Later. But as far as the best one, I'd still have to say it's the first Batman. Still Burton, but Jack Nicholson as the Joker was still the best villain.

Oh, and you did not just recommend Ronnie James Dio. I actually saw him a few months ago at the Surf Ballroom. With Anthrax. That was... an experience. I'm not even a big Dio fan, but I was still tempted to buy a shirt of him throwing up the horns.

If it trumps Holy Diver, this has to be something to see.
