Stay up late doing nothing, sleep in late, go to work, come home and worry about life. Oh yeah Billy, that's really gonna get you somewhere! I have no books to read, none of my friends live around me anymore, and I forgot how much it sucks to try to find a job. And knee pain!!! Oh the joys of a knee problems that actually...

Okay, Okay! First of all, if you haven't seen the "Saturday Night Live, Best of Will Ferrell" you must, it is like looking into the face of god and him looking back and saying, "You are my most wonderous creation." If you have, good. Think back to that scene where he is the dad who shouts out stuff at the dinner table like, "I drive...

We're looking for Sunset or Richmond district housing, since one of the people I'm moving with is transferring to SF State. Even if it's foggy all day every day all year, I like the idea of cheap rent, ample parking, and a relatively safe neighborhood.

well, conor and joel-peter are two of my favorites... sometimes even crush-worthy when i'm in the appropriate mood.
i think the light poles i am most familiar with require the odd, spiked shoes to really climb up and over. however, how does one get up the metel light poles (without the use of a truck or cherry-picker??) you got me. i think it may be the $60,000 question.

So yeah, tommorow after my Psychology final I'm going hiking and camping at Point Reyes National Seashore with a couple friends for my Environmental Studies class. I'm getting college credit for going to the fucking ocean. I can't complain. And for once I'm not the one stuck driving. Plus, I once again have my weekends back to myself where I don't have to pick up...

So I ordered this book over a week ago that I need to read by next week, right. Well it still has not arrived yet and everyday it is not here means one day less for me to read it. So the community service is now a thing of the past. I was planning on leaving the town and never looking back...the thought of shouting "so long stinktown!!!" as I got on the freeway was something I had been looking forward to on my departing even. But on my sober Saturday/early Sunday I found a reason to not completely write off that shithole of a...

Damn you Amazon.com used book section...damn you to hell
Guess what! I already new what the past three dictionary.com words of the day were before I even read there definitions...I'm feeling very learnded and quite scrumtralecent of myself for that.
So yeah.

I just realized you can go back and look at look at all your past entries. It was strange to see where the folks that are/were on my friends list came into effect and what sort of tale of whoa I was telling that they decided to respond to out of the goodness of their heart. It will be a year on this site come...

I know exactly what you're going through. For the first two years of living here in Chico I went through much the same. I tended to narrow everyone down to stereotypes; everyone was a bro, frat boy, sorority girl, or generic business major. I felt like there was no way in which I could connect with fellow students. My first semester here, I was almost a total recluse, keeping to myself and reading and drawing/painting most of the time. On the rare occasions taht I did go out, I would tell myself that alcohol would make me more sociable. It did, but I soon realized I was a drunken idiot socializing with other drunken idiots, and I was using alcohol not just to be social but also to make other people interesting. So unless I wanted to be drunk all the time, most of the drinking buddies I had would be one-dimenional carbon copies of every other inhabitant of this place.
In fact, it wasn't until this past summer that I met some people who I could actually relate to and enjoy (who I preferred being sober around, and now for the first time I actually can call some people here true "friends"). As a result life here has become much more bearable. All I can say is that either every town, no matter how dreadful-seeming, has its share of like-minded people, or perhaps normally shy (and sober) people can only make good friends with a small number of others around whom they feel comfortable and less vulnerable.
I, too, plan on moving to SF (with one of the best friends I have made in Chico), and I tell myself the same thing you said. But then, I remember telling myself that three years ago when I moved to Chico, so I'm only cautiously optimistic.
Well, at least in my tired state, I think some of that is what you may be going through...
Oh yeah, if you're doing your community service bullshit again and want good vegan food in Chico, I recommend the Peeking Chinese restaurant on 2nd St, next to the Black Crow (adjacent to The Bear). You can substitute wheat meat in many of their dinners. I've tried it and dig it, and my vegan friends really love it!

Thanks for listening! It was a fun show to do, since I brought a whole load of stuff I hadn't played (or even heard) before.
The synthpop song was by the band Soviet; their cd (released a few years ago, but already put of print...) is called We Are Eyes, We Are Builders - definitely a great cd if you can find it.

There is nothing that you can wear that will make a neon green vest and trash-picker-upper look stylish.
I hate to bring this up again but since this was what my weekend consisted of I really have nothing else to write about. I swear I'm trying harder not to be such a wet blanket in my entries

Oh yeah, spring cleaning of the apparently dead friends. So now the shining happy profile pics are back...
I am a weekday on weekends, I hate my best friends...
Blah Blabby Blah Blah Blah...
...I didn't like that last entry. It was very forced and full of things that are only interesting to me. To sum it up: I went to Coachell and saw some good music, end of story.
I just signed up for a chemistry class today for the first month...

You opened you journal entry with a Stills quote, reaffirming your coolness! Hope you had fun at Donnie Darko. I was thinking of going to see it until I realized that I had forsaken all school-related projects last weekend and if I didn't paint or draw or complete one of my art projects tonight I'd be pretty screwed. Plus, I own it and have seen it a dozen times or so because every time I get a friend to borrow it I end up watching it with them...
What was the last album you've purchased?
The Swords Project - Entertainment is Over if You Want it, British Sea Power - The Decline of..., and Broken Spindles - Fulfilled: Complete
What was the last album you sold back/traded in?
Probably something lame. I haven't done this in a while.
What was the last movie you watched that you actually enjoyed? I know, that's a tough one.
Eternal Sunshine
How long do you normally leave the conditioner in before rinsing?
3 minutes or so.

So last night I returned again to the comfort and silence of my room and am just now beginning to piece together the last four days that was my Coachella weekend.
Very little sleep, a diet of strickly tofu-dogs and bagels, 100-plus degree weather, being on your feet for 12 hours for two days in a row, and being the driver of a 18 hour...

Ahh, the trick to getting out of Coachella was to NOT park in the designated lots. We parked a mile away, on a side street. It was a bit of a walk, but we made it back to Palm Springs about 45 minutes after we left the show both days!
I love the way you stuck it to Coachella. I tried to argue that I should be able to take in empty bottles of water that I had purchased the previous day, but they weren't having it. And the tip jars were ridiculous, although it's not really the vendors' fault for the prices. And $5.00 spinach? What the fuck? That damn well better have been the best spinach ever!

Going to Cochella this weekend yet I still feel horrible...something is very fucking wrong with my brain.
If you have the means you should pick up the new Iron and Wine album, put the player on repeat, crawl into bed and never get out again. If there is someone for you to curl up with in that bed then you should be thankful and i...

I hope you didn't get the "too legit to quit" tattoo this weekend!
What is wrong with your brain, honey? I haven't been maling my friends rounds lately as I have been busy with stuff.
If it makes you feel bettter, something is wrong with my brain too.
I hope you had an awesome weekend. I also hope to see you again at Prom. We can talk in the corner and drink red wine and be shy together.
Love,
M

After some insightful comments, I think the consensus is that getting a lyric tattooed might not be the best idea. It means alot now, and will always mean something but when I look back at how I was 3 or 4 years ago I probably would have slapped myself. So what makes me think that I wont think that the way I see things now...

its easy when you are passionate to be in your face about things and get really mad when someone doesnt agree, thats why vegans and veggies get a bad rap sometimes, you gotta step back and make it light and inform rather than preach you know?
Anyway, you seem like a nice guy... may I add you as a friend?
Anyway, tell me more about yourself... Your bio doesn't really do the best the job, as these things are made to be general.
