So, my friend Joel and I paid a visit to the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles, during which we experienced and did the following things:

-Suffered through heat that was hotter than the exact opposite of a witch's teat

-Stayed at a very seedy motel that was so cheap they couldnt even afford a name (it was simply called Motel.) They required all occupants to...

My friend and I are going to LA this weekend. For absolutely no reason. I know we'll be hitting up record stores by day and bars, clubs or possibly a show by night, though.

It looks clean, but I used the tile cleaner that only kills 99.9% of the bacteria. mwahaha, that .1% is gonna make the former mice problem look like heaven.

What started out as a simple family dinner in celebration of my half-birthday (my regular birthday is two days after Christmas and therefore rarely celebrated) has been getting out of proportion. It was originally supposed to be my parents, brother, and a friend... Now it's my friend, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my aunt and uncle, my grandfather, and one of his friends....

Hooray! I'm a-ok!

And of COURSE the UK version. And I cried at the end of the special. Oh Tim and Dawn, please adopt me.

My family celebrates my half birthday too because I have a twin brother, so now it's sort of like we have seperate ones.

And just tell your roommate and his friends to tone down the fabulous! (just kidding, no one should have to compromise their fabulousness.)
heterochromia:
Happy half-birthday.

I like your paintings. smile

Yeesh, it's been a while! Wait, is "yeesh" a word? Well it is now! I'm happy to say that I now have a radio show in San Francisco. It's at a small pirate radio station, West Add Radio, which is pretty rad because I can pretend I'm in Pump Up the Volume.
I even created a Myspace page for it, so that I may...

Wow. Apparently there was a quake in the Pacific Ocean and they just issued a tsunami warning for SF. I live just a few blocks from the ocean, so the next time I visit this site, I might be considerably wetter!

I now know what I shall do with my life. I will hang out outside the Antiques Roadshow. And every time someone comes out with an ear-to-ear grin, I'll smack them upside the head and take their valuable wares, and hel-looooo eBay! Failsafe!

Yesterday I went over to the house of the girl I had been dating up until a couple months ago. I was afraid it would be awkward, since it would be our first time really talking to each other since we broke up. And it was awkward, but not for the reasons I expected. I quickly found that there was no animosity between us, which...

I just got back from a bar where some friends' bands played. When I got to my car, I was quite annoyed to find my back window (the small vent window) broken. Nothing was stolen. Not the radio, not my cds that were lying on the seat, not the clothes in the trunk, not the jacket in the back seat. Nothing was missing, and the...

longblackbangs:
Oh no! You haven't heard?!?! There is is small Prussian gang roaming the city putting tick-less analog bombs in hidden parts of cars. The usually go in through the small side window. *gasp* It works the same as the bomb in the movie about the bus that had to SPEED because if it didn't SPEED it would blow up so the bus driver had to keep SPEEDing to stay above a certain SPEED. I think the movie was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down".*

But yeah, I first read White Noise and already jumped into Underworld. The writing is just so great that I feel like he could talk about grass growing and I would be interested. I do want to check out Me Talk Pretty Some Day. I've seen that on your favs for a while and have been meaning to give it a go.

*credit given to Homer for Speed reference.

RIP Cat Club.
Over the years, I laughed, I drank, I danced, I ogled, I drunkenly stumbled, I awkwardly sang, I did it all within your cold, dimly lit brick walls. I became friends with some great and dated some wonderful girls I met within your homey interior. You were my dance-friendly home away from home, loudly blaring new wave, punk, indie, electro, and goth...

That's weird. crushjunkie just wrote an entry about a place in his town closing that made him sad. Sadness all around. I live in a deadbeat town where everything closes in a matter of months.

Oh, how I love the commercials on late night TV. Has anyone ever seen that Red Hot Dateline commercial in which a group of girls is working out, and then they decide to call up the Red Hot Dateline to get some hot guys over? Then, all of a sudden it cuts to a somewhat attractive spokesmodel with a downright unsettling smile who gives the...

The Lovemakers seriously need to release their new cd already. The first time I saw them, opening for The Prids at the now-defunct Voodoo Lounge, they blew the half-dozen or so people in attendance away, despite (or perhaps because of) half their set being Cure covers. Last Friday I saw them play to a VERY packed crowd at Cafe Du Nord and they've done nothing...

So yeah, I notice I say and write that alot, but starting out three entries that way...pretty bad. Well, it could be worse. I could still be stuck on saying "fuckin" in place of every adjective or anytime I pause in my speaking.

Anyway, (there's another one of those overused words!) I wasn't planning on going to New Order but mainly that is because I just assumed it was sold out by now. I'm not going to Coachella so I might look into that. I am, however, going to see M83 on Thursday as long as tickets are still around by the time I get to that site today on my internet travels. Any plans to go see them? Really think ya should! biggrin
longblackbangs:
Ohhh, I don't have the money to see the New Order show frown BUT, I am officially going to the M83 show. I'm gonna sort of be late since I don't get out of work till 10, but should get there in plently of time. So cool, hopefully I'll see you there!

I walked out of my house this morning and decided to start walking. I had my mp3 player fully charged, comfortable shoes, and 8 hours to kill. After an hour or so, I found myself at the huge tourist trap that is the Golden Gate Bridge. But why stop here?, I wondered to myself, and I continued on my aimless trek, crossing the bridge into...

So the Concourse is a big venue...ughhh. I've never even heard of it. Well, that sort of blows.

The bridge story is pretty crazy. I've never made it out there on foot myself. From where I'm coming from I usually am like, "Fuck this" by the time I get to the Cliff House.
