Home was good this past weekend. Ate, drank, drank some more and had a chance to swing by Newbury Comics. We don't have that store up here and selectionwise it's hard to compare. I bought a Spooky Tooth CD, "Spooky Two" which I'm really getting into. The keyboardist and second lead singer of this band was none other than Gary Wright, long before his Dream Weaver days. Good stuff, much heavier than his solo stuff.
Wildcat New Hampshire was yesterday's ski destination. I'm kicking myself for not bringing a camera because there was nary a cloud in the sky, and Wildcat has one of the most striking views from any ski trail in the east: straight across to Mount Washington, where you can clearly see Tuckerman's Ravine, the east's extreme skiing holy grail. Errmm... I'll stick to the trails at Wildcat for now
Turns out the new AA baseball team wants me to do half their games as public address announcer this summer. More than I thought they would throw at me for sure, and this could screw with my summer work, but my thought is to work around my PA schedule because for me as an aspiring radio/voice guy this is a kick-ass thing to be doing. Or so I'm telling myself.
Just a few weeks left of doing ski reports. I got a call from RSN, a cable channel that provides outdoor-themed programming on cable systems in resort towns and for the Weather Channel, among others, and they want to do a "day in the life of a ski reporter" type of mini-documentary. This will involve camera crews being at my apartment at 3am, following me to work. Guess I better start cleaning up now, they want to do this a week from today
No wonder I have no life lately, I'm caught up in work stuff 24/7. Maybe someone should kidnap me.
