An eventful day today. It's super late, as I've been writing my handful of SG friends. Consequently, I will have to give the Cliff Notes version.
Spent a couple of hours trying to teach my 70+ year old mother-in-law how to use the internet to surf Japanese websites today (I don't speak the language, but it's her native tongue, and I though it might be easier to engage her interest). After about two hours, I almost have her to the point of understanding how to move the mouse cursor and use the left (only) mouse button to follow a link. It was painful . Bears and her sister, though, refuse to even try - they treat her like she's a child. They didn't appreciate me pointing this out to them, either
I have this inexorable feeling that my life is about to become a living hell. That is, much more than the self-imposed hell in which I currently reside!
The days events also brought us out to Hayward today (if you can avoid ever going there - do you self a favor ...), which is where my brother (one of many half-siblings, this one, less than half my age, all but two with different moms - but I digress...) lives. Bears thought it would be a good idea to torture me by calling him and asking him out to dinner - I was just the chauffeur in all of this, and I didn't get a vote! While the five of us were driving (in a car built for four - at best!), (one of) my sister(s) calls and tricks me into talking to my (even younger) other brother, who just turned 17. She also had my niece (daughter of yet another one of my abandoned sisters) with her. It was a regular bastard family lovefest.
Bears enjoyed it. Personally, I'd rather pretend it never happened - Alas, I can see the writing on the wall...
Well, I'm off to go to bed now to have nightmares about it all.
Gute Nacht.
