New day, new post.
I hae decided to follow things through and actually learn how to make cakes. I don't know why but it's something I'd like to do so there
So, last night I was in the Co-op stocking up on cheese and I saw a trifle mix so I bought it and made myself a strawberry trifle last night! Check it out:
I am pleased with my first attempt
So, being the dick that I am, I text my sister first thing this morning to ask her if she would allow me to bake a cake for Sonny's christening which is on the 31st August. Talk about put pressure on myself!!
Oh well, it's a challenge I will enjoy
So between now and next Tuesday when I'm off to Reading Festival for a week and then the week after I get home, I'm going to be baking like a bitch! I've also decided to make it doubley hard on myself and only bake vegan cakes (that's once I've moved on from packet mixes you understand!).
It's suddenly occured to me that taking the time to make things for the people you care about is a fuck of a lot more meaningful than spending loads of wedge on them. I know myself I appreciate things that have been made or really thought about rather than something someone's just gone to the shop and bought (within reason obviously )
So there you have it. A new challenge for me. I know I will never be very good or creative with it but the day I can make my own coffee and almond cake or some such other flashy cake for someone I love, I will be a very happy (and probably fat!) lady.
Thank you to all of you who sent such lovely messages to me yesterday. It was an incredibly sad day but some good things came out of it - Mother text without me even realising she knew what the date was. Kelly, my sister sent me the sweetest card and wrote the loveliest words in them - I felt really cared for yesterday
I love you all, really I do
xx

I think the earliest I can finish is probably half 3 - would that be ok?
