It's actually quite easy to do- you put a finger in one ear then either put it in the other one or rub your hands together and put another finger in the other ear and you transfer the infection... it's easier to do with eyes than ears, but still quite common...

I'm actually a drummer- due to space issues I didn't have my kit with me at all last year, so I haven't played in awhile. But my new apartment has a ton of space and such for practicing.
