The weather really has been perfect today.
Kathleen and I had a killer time at the Pomona Swap Meet. We ended up with so many great things. Kathleen scored on two gorgeous necklaces, one of which is a spectacular choker that she plans to wear on Valentine's and for the wedding.
We bought 10 different sets of teacups with saucers and we were great at bargaining for them to just charge us for the sets, instead of per piece. We got some sweet deals! We even found a pair of cups and saucers in a playing card print! We also came across this HUGE Alice In Wonderland print, but $225 was a little rich for my blood today. So we got our picture taken with it instead. I look all dorky, but it was fun. I'll tell you though, this tea party is going to kick ass.
My purchases today were more delicate and meaningful. I found a breathtaking black lace shawl with a pale silkrosebud pinned to it. I bought it along with the most amazing crocheted lace hanger that it came on. That reminds me, I have to hang it up.
I found an incredible bridal purse with a black satin braidcord so it can hang around my wrist, and it's got big black silk roses on top. It's gorgeous. Looks like I'll have my way with a knowing nod to the Victorian gothic side that remains inside of me.
Kathleen bought me a Ms. Eerie Living Dead Doll. She's cute with her pale white hair and matching eyes. Heh. We stumbled in to this great bath bomb tent and we bought 3 different fragrances each, for $10. Nice score there. These are sublime. Also picked up 6 silk mesh Monarch butterflies with little wire feet that I can affix to a random goldfish bowl here and there for the reception tables.
I found a cute Valentine's gift for Brian and already gave it to him. It's one of those cute, tiny, Mathbox-sized remote control cars. We had a really excellent day. I am craving sushi like a mad woman and we're going to get some RIGHT NOW!
Hope you're doing well out there...
P.S. maryisstrange met my Johnny. You lucky, lucky little woman, you. If you only knew what infinite joy that would bring me. That one meeting, so that I could hug his skinny, hot little body. Just once.
He's a dreamboat.
I love Johnny.
Yes, I do.
I think I shall have to cry myself to sleep now.
