Getting to be time for the big plane ride.

I am increasingly reminded of the line from David Mamet's Spartan, that
You've got to set your motherfucker on receive. They don't go through the door, we don't ask why. And that's not a cost, it's benefit. Because we get to travel light. . Seems to sum up life these days pretty nicely.

Officially living the dream in rainy, rainy central Indiana before heading out to entirely non-rainy Afghanistan.

Forty-eight hours until I deploy and the heat goes out in my place. Rains it pours and all that.

So moving, changing credit card #s, and not having internet all at once can be a bad idea . . .

Post-surgery, post-crutches walking isn't too bad, really, which I suppose is a good sign. Hopefully, the grinding sensation and pain will go away when I bend my knee too far, as the alternative (more, much more invasive, surgery) doesn't seem terribly appealing.
