As football season comes down to it's final three games of the season I look ahead baseball season. I eagerly await the green grass, the smell of hot dogs and peanuts and an icy cold beer in my hand. I'll miss living in a city with an MLB team but I can road trip to ATL if I want. I've got a trip planned to Milwaukee this summer for some games. Even though football season ends in February I feel like winter in over when the season ends. Baseball season marks the turn of a new time for growth. It takes us through the best part of the year and gives ample opportunities to get out an enjoy the sunshine with friends. Don't get me wrong. There are 1000s of ways to spend time in the sun with friends but nothing calls to me like baseball. Perhaps I look forward to this season because I eagerly await the spring as my time of growth. As I move onward in my life I feel stagnant in the winter cold. My soul anticipates the spring warm to nurture its bloom. Like the caterpillar from it's cocoon I thrive to shed my old existence and fly free of it's earthly bonds. I feel good for the first time in a long time and the freedom that feeling gives me allows me to fly. So as football season comes to a close I don't mourn the horrible records of my beloved Tennessee Volunteers and Green Bay Packers or my personal losses. I look forward to the promise of my ChiSox winning to another World Series and the new season in my life. Play Ball!
