Did you have a lovely Christmas? I was telling this dude the other night that since we were sitting in Devils Point on the eve of Baby Jesus' birthday, watching very young girls get naked, we are most definitely going to hell. Then to seal my fate I went to Dante's and watched more naked girls dance in various christmas themes with snakes and wrapping paper and fire. The good news is I'm not sitting at home crying in my beer (I'm doing it in public) the bad news is I spent alot of money. At least I helped the girls pay the bills. I had a challenge for myself yesterday, which was to write record and produce an entire song in one day. I only got halfway done though. Between talking to various people on the phone, going to visit friends and then going out I just sort of ran out of time. But I might finish it today. Did you get camping gear? I'm sure I could loan you some stuff if you didn't get all you needed. I've decided to volunteer next year for something at BM. Perhaps being a greeter or for Exodus. There's also a clean up crew doing some work on the weekend of my birthday. That might be intersting, you know? Be on the playa with maybe twenty or thirty people, on my birthday, supporting the cause. Apperantly after the winter rains the playa spits up a lot of burried garbage. So that maybe something to do. Anyway, I hope you're doing well.
I've been a busy little beaver as of late. I am in the midst of coordinating a HUGE project: developing a theme camp for Burning Man 2006 with a bunch of crazies from an arts foundation I'm a member of. My part of the camp will be known as Loca Bomberos (loosely translated: crazy firefighters). In addition to the camp, I'm also working on the... Read More
I hab a code and I don't feel so good. I don't feel that bad, but I wish I could be home in my warm bed instead of here in an office avoiding doing any real work.
It would hit me on the day of tonight's impending SANTA KONG!! I made such an awesome costume too. Red mini skirt w/ white trim, red... Read More
On Saturday I was at a party with my camera in hand, as usual. While I was standing in the hallway, somebody ran into me and spilled a rum & coke all over me and ALL OVER MY CAMERA
I immediately asked the host for some rubbing alcohol and wiped off my camera as best I could, took... Read More
I feel for you. As you can see from my journal, I too am mourning the loss of a camera. Amazing how we come to depend on things we never before knew we needed.
So what you're telling me is you're unable to provide futher proof of the Christina Ricci comparison?
That sucks, I'm sorry to hear it. I'll hold out hope, though, that a camera shop or some as-yet-undiscovered talented person will be able to disassemble it and do a proper cleaning (a cam-enema, if you will). That it's making the grinding/trying noises is a good thing, that means that the sticky/gooey wetness did not damage the circuitry inside.
So, a fire friend of mine turned me on to this kick-ass video that is a really good example of the pyro at Burning Man. If you're interested in getting an idea of what magic goes on out there in the mystical desert community known as Black Rock City, this will give you a little sample:
I ran in Target tonight and guess what I saw? Side-by-side, they had Nick & Nora 2-pc. pajama sets. One had gnomes and the other ... sock monkeys. I think Wendy did it.
