I had quite the interesting day yesterday and I shall share it with you for pure comedic enjoyment.
Yesterday started off like any other day, I woke up around 1pm and missed a lunch date I was supposed to have with my friend Carmi. I jumped in the shower, grabbed a quick lunch of left over spaghetti from the night before and I headed out to school to finish up some projects I had been working on for my finals.
On my way there I heard the familiar beep of my gas light going on and I decided I would make a stop at Race Trac and fill up my tank. I put in my credit card, since I never pay for anything in cash, filled up my tank and as I was doing so I noticed on of the employees walking towards me but they went to the other side of the gas pump. They weren't really paying attention to me and I saw that she was on the phone and walked back inside as I drove off.
The next 4 hours I was at school working on my project and I had left my cell phone in my car to charge since it's horrible at keeping a charge.
I came back out to 11 missed calls from my dad, I tried to call him back with no luck so I called Star and we talked as I fought Friday Rush-hour traffic and made a stop at the grocery store to pick up cat food and a little something for dinner.
While I was in the store I got a message from my beloved friend Ashley telling me to call my dad that it was an emergency.
So I called him.
He answered with the heartwarming "You are in trouble son" He then proceeded to tell me how he had received a call from the Sheriff here and the gas station telling them that I had stolen gas. They received this call because my car is titled in Georgia for tax purposes even though I reside in Florida.
I went back up to the gas station had them give me a piece of paper signed by the manager that made the call into the police that proved that I paid for the gas.
I went home to find a business card from the Deputy in charge of the case. I tried to call him back since he also left me a voicemail but was told he would not be in again until 6am.
This morning I woke up quite early and tried to call the Deputy again on my way Downtown to have lunch with my friend Carmi. They told me they would give him the message to call me and I hung up.
Just as I was about to pull out of my spot I noticed him driving up so I stopped and got out of my car and talked to him for a while and got everything squared away. He was remarkably nice to me which is not common for county sheriffs.
To make things worse. When I returned home from the gas station last night I received a call from my ex who only calls me when she needs something. She had apparently got in a car accident and was driving without a license and no insurance and the State Trooper was going to arrest her unless someone could come pick her up.
Being the nice person that I am, I headed right out to go get her since it was right down the street and coincidently exactly right next door to the gas station I had just came from. Halfway there she called me and said that someone else had come to get her. Since I was already out I decided I should go to Wal-Mart since my earlier trip to the supermarket was cut short by the call from my Father.
As luck would have it, right before I turned into Wal-Mart she called me back and said that her friend couldn't drive her car back because her license was suspended so I had to go get her after all.
I went there, the State Trooper ran my license and I thought I was going to get taken to jail because of the previous incident and misunderstanding but it came back clean, he asked for my Social and then asked me to grab my glasses from my car and prove to him that they were prescription. After all of that useless bullshit I drove her car back and had to have some girl who was stoned out of her mind drive me back to my car to find my checkbook laying right outside of my door...Amazing.
And that was my day.
