In my classes I read The Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I have read these for years to my students. They are wonderfully dark and crafty. Perfect for young minds. They love to hear them. I love to read them to them. Together we get lost in Lemony Snickets world for a while.
One of the substitutes whom I have known for years, brought me a CD from The Gothic Arches called The Tragic Treasury: Songs from A Series Of Unfortunate Events. It is great, just as dark and full of woo like the stories. One of the coolest thing about this CD is Lemony Snicket himself plays the accordion. All the songs are based on the 13 books. I highly recommend it if you are a lover of Dark humor and the Series.
I have not herd anything from the magazine I summited my stories too. I think I will just make a New Years Resolution to try to get published this year. That means putting my feelings on a shelve and grow a thick skin sending my tales out in bulk to lots of places. Surely some of them will tempt the higher powers involved in publishing world. After all these are people too, right?
Keep your fingers crossed for me. I do so love to write, but even a passion can turn sour if the art is not appreciated.

At least this'll give me something great to think about while watching people play bells later. Ooooo, shocking thoughts.
