Now that the holidays are over and the new year has begun, I can once again pursue the transformation of my home.
The first big project is almost complete. See, I had these awful built-in cabinets on one end of the dining room. I converted them to shelf space and painted the whole unit black. It looks much much better. Only thing left to do on it really is to take out the ugly plastic in the cupboard doors and replace them with a metal grate and a sheet of frosted plastic. Then I have to find/figure out the lighting scheme. But first I need to go by OSH and pick up some dowell rods to make up some supports for the center of the shelves, as it looks as though they would not hold any substantial weight. I'm hoping to have it done by tomorrow night, but we shall see how it goes.
Pics coming soon!
