I'm baaaaaaaaack!!
Well, let me just say that Budapest rocks! After being there two days I really wish I had more time to spend there. I had to miss out on some things because I am still not 100% feeling better and needed some recoup time. That and it takes 7 hours to drive up and back (tried 2 different routes, same result) so of my 4 days off, 14 hours of it was driving.
But, enough about that, the city is cool as heck. It is split into two parts, west of the Danube River is Buda; East is Pest. For some reason people always seem to wonder what I liked better and from what I can tell, Pest is more my thing. Buda had some cool historic sites but so did Pest. Buda is more for the 'rich' folk and Pest is more for people that want to have fun!
I made it to a lot of the big attractions which was cool. I will have plenty of pics up on the site in the next couple of days. My co-worker and I also hit a couple of discos which were pretty cool. The first was a salsa club though and since I don't know how to salsa dance it wasn't quite as much fun. The second one though was a lot of fun and we met a cool group of folks from Florida there. Much fun was had by all.
One thing I don't understand about Eastern Europe. What do they have against defining markers for their road systems? ARGH! One of the few times I get stressed is when I have no clue where I am or where I'm going (of course, that could also mean my state of mind, HA!). The problem with Bosnia, Croatia and Hungary are that they have great directions given on the different mapping programs and they have street names listed. I'll be damned if I actually knew where they pulled the names from!!
Well, anyhow, I spent way more money than I anticipated but the trip was well worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat and recommend it as a great way to spend a week, especially if you aren't sick! Oh, and for you guys out there, European women are beautiful 95% of the time!
Oh, and FlipMuhPina, I've always been in your fan club, heck, I could be founder and president! Hehe...
Hope everyone is doing well and look for a full update on my website in the next couple of days including pics...
