It was really a lot of fun this year. You would have enjoyed it much more than the last time! Very laid back, no drama, and no (or very little) attention-whoring!!

I was thinking maybe we could get a group to go camping in Asheville later this summer....??

I saw 300 last night. There sure were a lot of nipples in that movie.

crispy:
I have no desire at all to see that movie ... though I am a big fan of nipples.

Meh. She already (apparently) thinks I'm creepy, what would it hurt? wink
Seriously though, the whole situation is frustrating beyond belief. Just another reason I desperately need to find a new job.

I saw the new Harry Potter last night. It had 3-D glasses. I felt like a big geek, but I didn't care because my sister was there, so it meant she is a big geek too and I can blame it on genetics. Oh, and because I got to have amazing Peruvian food afterward. (Have you tried that purple corn drink? Where they boil it with cloves and apples and pineapple, then chill it and add lemon juice? AMAZING!!!)

Miss you!!! I hope to visit NC this fall, after I get back from India and get resettled a bit.

xoxo,

So... Idj and I are hosting Tangus and Morgan at our pad on Friday. So glad we were able to snag them for a quick visit during their week long visit to the triangle. SGNC peeps: I know it's a busy week/weekend, but if you wanna hang with the Morgangus, let me know, and you can swing on by on Friday evening! We're just having...

Much thanks for the hugs. I needed that.

While it would certainly be awesome if you two came to the party, I definitely understand if you are not able. I mean, we are only a few hours from Raleigh, but it still requires some planning and work to make it up there. smile
Congrats on the breakthrough! smile

I am premenstrual. I am grumpy! mad I want to go to the pool, but I don't yet have the code to get in! mad (Don't worry, I will by tomorrow, and definitely by the 16th!!)

Also, I have a hyper-negative, bitchy, opinionated, bigoted, racist, misogynist, victim for a coworker this summer. I can't stand her, and she feels the same about me. The difference? I am...

Angry coworkers suck. Some advice I received one time, was to try to get those angry people on your side along with most people where you work. It's nice to have someone helping you out if they are in a position to help.
perla:
Yeah....I'm ready for the pool time too!! When should I come over? My dog is currently chasing her non-existent tail...You know how funny that looks. kiss

2 finals down, one more to go. Must summon the energy to care about this last test. It's not over yet, right? Even though I am feeling drained, and my GAS (give a shit) factor has run to nothing, I must keep going.

Leaving for Chicago on Thursday. Am so f'ing excited! Never been before, and am very excited to spend three days with my...

Ooh ooh ooh! We went to Chicago for 4th of July weekend two years ago. It had never been a city I wanted to see before I died (kinda trumped by London and Paris, haha) but I had an awesome time, and it's a gorgeous city. Go on one of the double-decker bus tours and sit on top--I guess it would be the Loop tour...a great history lesson and sightseeing opportunity. DEFINITELY go to The Art Institute of Chicago. It is truly mindblowing. There are many great works of art there--American Gothic, Hopper's Nighthawks, so much to see. (It's also where they shot some scenes from Ferris Bueller's Day Off--where they were mesmerized by the Seraut painting.) If you like shopping, walk the Magnificent Mile. I was so excited they had an H&M store, and there's an awesome 2-story Victoria's Secret. Check out the Chicago Tribune building--the edifice has pieces of ancient architecture embedded in it and they're labeled--pieces of the Great Wall of China, the Parthenon, etc. The old Marshall Fields store is gorgeous, too. And pizza of course--we went to Giordano's, and it was yummy. biggrin

Navy Pier is fun, you can get on the giant Ferris Wheel that never stops. We also took a boat tour of Lake Michigan around the waterfront, that was great too.

And +1 for what LittleFierceOne said about Millenium Park--it's amazing. Go during the day to watch the little kids play in the water shot out by the glass-tower fountain, and go again at night and watch the glass tower change colors.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. biggrin
Oh yeah...I work for a trucking company. I won't name names--you probably haven't heard of it anyway--but they have 6 terminals in the Southeast and one in Kentucky. Truck drivers are very interesting characters, to say the least. surreal

It's horrible, but that's exactly how I feel. I haven't really ever been completely happy with my body... I look back at high school photos and think, "I thought I was FAT? What the fuck was I smoking???" I've never had an eating disorder, but I've always been self-conscious about my weight. I guess I just didn't realize that it was my body type, and that I looked great, until I realized what being overweight was.

I keep meaning to exercise, but it's soooooo hard. And stress adds weight. And eating for comfort is my thing, sadly... There are so many habits to change in order to get healthy, but I can't go on like this, either.

I'm taking tennis this summer, even though I found out they changed PE requirements and I don't have to. I could stand to get outside and exercise.

I feel better today. Still sad, but Idjiit babied me with a good dinner of Vietnamese Pho and a couple shots of yummy Belvedere vodka. I got a good night's sleep, and now I can face today, which is good because I have a lot to do.

I am however wearing an orange shirt and a burgundy sweater over it, as a subtle way of...

OOPPS, was not trying to leave everyone out of the post of great couples. We had little time on the computer, and I wanted to make sure my man knew how I felt.

Well the reason I'm up at 4am-sh is because I am supposed to be at work at 4am. Sometimes I have to be at work at 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am. The plant that I inpsect runs three shifts around the clock so sometimes I have to joogle my schedule to oversee what I need to oversee.

I think it is safe to say that we all had a great time. smile

Heard the VA Tech shooter's comments on the radio on the way to school this morning. After arriving to school, made the mistake of looking at the video he sent NBC. Went to the cafe to get coffee and a croissant, and lost it on the way there. Lost my composure, I mean. Been constantly on the verge of tears all day since then.

I...

I think the whole thing is awful, but things like that never seem to bother me too deeply and I kinda feel like an asshole for it sometimes. You should feel grateful for being such a compassionate person, it's a very good quality to have. kiss
pavlovsdog:
It's terrible that the shooter is getting more air time than the victims.
