I know what you mean. I am now looking forward to re-reading all of the Harry Potter books, just to put together the clues.

I have seen the trailer for the His Dark Materials movie. The special effects look amazing but I've heard that they are cutting out important plot elements to be more appealing to the masses, which makes me worry. I figure I will withhold judgement until I actually see the movies though.
