My "kid" is pretty talented. I say "kid" because she is almost 30. She's always had a love of drawing. She tells me that she developed that while watching me go through art school when she was young. Where, until recently, I never had much interest in drawing as a medium, she embraced it as her medium of choice. I was always more interested in

My wife was gone for a work trip last night. So I got to spend the night with a couple of extra pups in my bed. The guest dogs are allowed in the bed when she's home, but removing a human allows a few more of them room to be comfortable.

Rafa is a three-legged little poodle mix. At least they think he is a

Book review time.

I just got done reading An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green. I loved it. On the surface, it is a book about a girl who finds a mystery statue on a New York street corner and shoots a quick and silly YouTube video about it. Obviously it is more than it seems and she gets quite famous because of that video.

The lovely girl above is Sahara. She visited me yesterday. She is a vizsla and she likes to sit on my shoulder.

It started when she was a puppy. Obviously she was smaller then. Luckily as she has grown over the last couple of years, she didn't get any less graceful. I think of her as a dancer in a dog's body. She is lithe,

A lot has happened to me in...

this all is wonderful! Good for you for getting a handle on who you are but not letting it change you. That's a wonderful story for all those who feel that it's never going to get better, cuz it can if you only keep at it

I'm in Bardstown, KY this week. It's the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. Tonight I was at a "Sampler." Basically a big room with a lot of distilleries who want to ply you with booze. Not a bad time at all! I spent a lot of time meeting folks and bringing them to a friend of mine who happens to have a distillery so they could try...

In Louisville Kentucky tonight. Met some really cool people and had just a bit too much bourbon. Can't wait to see what this road trip brings tomorrow.

I'm not sure if it is because I'm cheap or because when I make something from scratch, I go all out. An example: making pizza sauce means I plant and grow a garden full of tomatoes. And as it turns out that making hard cider starts with making a cider press. Finished it tonight. I've got two bushels of apples straight from a local orchard...
