so, if you read my journal or look at my pictures you will know that i'm in no way a vegetarian.. i enjoy eating meat.
well.. a few days ago in class we mad fois gras. if you dont know what that is.. it is the fatty liver of a goose or duck. normally livers are red.. but fois gras liver is light orange/peach.. putty colored. it is that way because of all the excess fat. basically.. its when the goose or duck has fatty liver disease. Said duck or goose gets fatty liver disease because it is force fed.. with a feeding tube.
As stated before.. i'm in no way a vegetarian.. but this makes me sick. and sad. i'm comfortable butchering out primal cuts of beef, pork, lamb..
And no.. i dont need anyone telling me how much worse they thing cattle are treated.. in a lot of cases they probably are.. but i tend to purchase meat from grazing animals.
anyway.. you're not missing anything if you haven't had fois gras. its not that great.
edit for rockinsteve: in the grand sceme of things lobster is not that far removed from cockroach. brains smaller than a pea. it wasn't hard to kill a bug.

The reason I don't eat meat is chemical -- I think I've told you, but it basically makes me literally ill -- and has nothing at all to do with the animals themselves. That's hard for most people to believe. But WITH that being true, I cannot understand why anyone would do this. Is one good meal worth that much?
