The longer I stay in town, the more I think I should have taken the money and ran when I had the chance. I honestly dont know what I'm doing here anymore. I just wish it didnt increasingly seem that the only way out of my problems involved a gun, a mouth, and about 15 minutes undisturbed. *sigh* I have no intent on doing anything...

This girl participates in roller derby. Do you and/or Debra know her? blush

Thanks kiss
alaspooryorick:
Ooo, that would be awesome! I'll have to see if I can convince my brother to go along, though, since I'm not really supposed to be driving except to and from work.

The following was asked on a forum, and I took the time to jot down an answer. I wanted to record that answer somewhere, simply because I never realized I had thought that through so thoroughly before.

So now, did I think up this answer all on my own? Or was someone, somewhere, whispering it in my ear and guiding my hand? The world may...

Societies worse off 'when they have God on their side
By Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent

RELIGIOUS belief can cause damage to a society, contributing towards high murder rates, abortion, sexual promiscuity and suicide, according to research published today.

According to the study, belief in and worship of God are not only unnecessary for a healthy society but may actually contribute to social problems.

The study...

You might be interested in the group . It just began about a week ago and is already quite lively. The members cover the whole spectrum of belief/non-belief.

Cheers!

What's it like being a religion correspondant, I wonder? What does that resume look like?

Its funny, I shop around sites like this lookinf at people's profiles of interests, and of course whenever you do you're always mentally on the lookout for one that you like as well. I feel like a fraud half the time because I'll look at something and go "Wow! They like ***?? I LOVE that too!!!" And its the truth, I do. I have a...

I really have to counter your "skillz I have none" with: you have significant skills with language and in writing. You've been told this, of course (?)

Its happening. Its a thrum-thrum-thrumming singing through me that says things are changing again. I feel as I once felt when I first came down here, like I am standing on the edge of a cliff with my nose lifted to the wind, breathing in the scent of salt sea air and storm wind, tinged with spices from exotic lands. Something is shifting in the...

"No one can take away this pain. I suppose the only wisdom I have is--if it hurts, change it. Find a new job, move away, take a vacation, do something radical, make a shift. "

this is what i've decided to do differently. i'm looking just accepting things the way they are and pushing through. it's essentially a bad trip and i'm stuck in the middle. if i break through, i'll be better for it.

"Only the living feel pain, a void is only numbness, emptiness, and pain is the body's way of saying something is terribly, terribly broken and needs reshaped. Even emotional pain. And though you might not see the broken glass strewn on your path, though you might think the pain you feel is your fault because you cant see it even when you step on it, thats not the case. Dont blame yourself for the sins of the world."

i don't. granted, most of that was composed drunk and/or stoned, but i seriously think that letting it all go, all this mental noise, is in part, key to growing out of this entrapment and becoming a better person.

"Entropy wears away everything eventually. Even pain. Even regret. Even sorrow. Sometimes your worst enemy can also be your best friend."

entropy just is. just like the robots just are what they are. it and they cannot be destroyed. they just have to be accepted. i'm trying to learn acceptance.

"This probably hasnt helped, and I dont know how to explain, but I sincerely hope you find your way from the darkness and into light again. Take care."

i'm certainly trying, in spite of what i may say or do.

The three surviving Artan adepts communicated the friar's location, and a scant second later that location was the intersection of three expanding spheres, each comprising several thousand sewing-needle-sized flechettes, produced by three RG 2253A antipersonal rifle grenades in simultaneous airbursts at an altitude of precisely 3.5 meters.

What remained of the friar wasnt recognizable as human.

I pull myself up to the lip of the...

Wow, thats freakin hysterical in that it's-so-pathetic-it's-funny kind of way.

So at midnight someone feels they have to call me up just to call me a cunt and hang up. The really hysterical thing is they hide their number from caller ID, but don't disguise their voice!!! *dies laughing* Could they BE any more obvious? Or rather, couldshe be any more obvious? Yes, I...

My pentacle came back last night.

I have this necklace that has an open back, its just a curve of metal that hugs the neck, and I switch out the pendants that hang upon it. When I sleep the pendants usually come off in the night, but I dont sweat it because I always find them in the bedsheets come morning. At least, until the...
