Fuckin dog bit me. I now have a puncture through the meat of my hand. Thankfully, I'm only bleeding in two places. It could have been worse, damn dog was fuckin determined to take the whole hand. And then, he just stops, and seems to have no earthly clue what just happened and is the same lovable beast as ever.
Stupid dog.
Help me out here folks. I will pay money to ship this dog to a good home if need be. He's the world's friendliest, most stupid dog right until something clicks in his head and he snaps. He is a rescue from the pound, and we are fairly certain he was abused in the past, causing this behavior. Its also possible its a physical thing, since every time it happens someone usually has just touched his nose. His nose is usually not only a safe zone, but he loves to have it scritched and will thrust it in your lap, but according to mom, just sometimes, he pops. Its possible something in there hurts, and when you hit it just right, the pain drives him nuts.
My brother is gone at his job or with his girlfriend or with his friends all day. Mom is always busy. And I am in Atlanta. We have neither the time nor the money to rehabilitate this dog the way he needs--whether physical or otherwise--and I would very much like to not see him put down.
Does anyone out there have any ideas?

Also, when moving to pet him, go under the chin and work your way wherever you want to go. Don't ever reach out and put your hand on top of his head because dogs consider that a display of dominance and are more apt to try and defend themselves.
...and don't ever stare into his eyes. They interpret that as aggression.
I'm pretty good with animals, so if you have any questions, I'll help when I can.
Have you noticed that the dog only bites people he knows?
