Of Epidermic Proportions
We sit here inseparable,
from each other,
I cry,
you shake.
You sit and take the abuse,
or do you,
closest to me, sweat it out?
I expose you, you leave me vulnerable.
Our relationship constantly grows closer,
it regenerates itself,
you hold me together.
I cut you, bruise you, and tear at you,
and still you stretch, bend, and give.
When I peel you away,
you come back renewed.
Through you I feel and sense life,
you're supposed to protect me,
from the outside world.
Yet why at a harsh word,
do you abandon me?
