Ok so, second post today - I'm getting a bit regular xD
Let me set the scene...(boring stuff lol)
On a Wednesday my lecture finishes at 1pm, and I am free until 7pm when I have my pole class.
So, read until half 2, yano trying to get some studying in lol..then went to see a lecturer at 3, so was free from 3.15..ages to spare!
I knew that when I got home from pole just after 8.30pm I'd be shattered and not have the energy to make tea, so I stopped by my favourite shop: New Roots where everything is organic, fair trade and mainly vegan - and picked up: A chickpea &spinach pasty, peice of lemon crumble cake & peice of blueberry crumble and caramel cake to have when I get in ^_^ Decided to try a new drink for now too: Bella Chai smoothie: chocolate, chai and bananas..proper yum!
Then decided I need to eat big now ready for pole, otherwise I get really dizzy and sick! So..are you ready for this: sexy burrito and nachos..now the burrito..omg delicious!
coriander rice, black beans, sauted onions, lettuce, nachos (or what I like to call crunchies), jalepenoes, chunky mild salsa & hot salsa sauce
I'm in heaven when I eat this burrito!
I took it to a big park area near the uni, and found myself a lovely tree to sit under. Quite secluded, relatively quiet and beautiful.
So there I was, I sat under the tree. It wasn't muddy and there were pine needles everywhere =] And I ate my burrito and nachos. And properly, mindully ate my food. Which is something I find hard to do generally as always have tv on and fiance is there.
It just felt amazing. Not wolfing down food, savouring flavours and appreciating the work that went into the food. Appreciating that it is a gift from the universe: sun, rain, farmers, hard working shop workers. Everything had come together to allow me to eat and I cherished it.
After that, I had about an hour and a half just sitting and being under that little tree. I did get cold (and I'm still cold now lol), but I drank my smoothie and occasionally had moments of just being. I followed my breath at times, meditated. And there were times when there were no thoughts, and everything just was. And it was lovely.
After that, slow walk back through the park and I'm now going to head on to my pole class.
I'd love to say that when I got up from under that tree, and said thank you to it for allowing me to be, I was fully enlightened like the Buddha himself..
One day maybe =]
Thanks guys, just wanted to put this down. It probably means nothing to most! But means everything to me,
Take care Lovelies!
