This week's blog homework is New Years Eve stories and I thought what better topic to choose as my first homework blog!?
Last year me and my boyfriend moved from a very small secluded city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to here in Milwaukee just days before new years. I had just turned 21 on Halloween and so we decided to celebrate our very first NYE in a big city and my first legal one in style. I bought a new dress and got all dolled up and we bought tickets to an open bar event at a place downtown. Everything was great until I had gotten about three drinks in but continued to go up and get more so I could "stock up" before the open bar ended at midnight. With a table full of drinks I went to the bathroom and that's about the last I remember. Apparently a girl drug me back to the table my poor boyfriend was at and told him to get me out of there because someone called the cops on me (I'm still very curious as to what I did to get the cops called on me, it's a mystery to this day). We preceeded to get escorted out into the FREEZING cold. That's the one other thing I remember about that night, how unbelievably cold it was. Anywho, from what my boyfriend recalls I was a hot mess and fell into a lot of snow banks and in the street and in front of cops and tried to sneak into other bars to get warm. What I do remember very clearly was waking up the next morning with my foot the size of a basketball because I had lost my flats at some point and was walking around in the snow and ice barefoot. We went to the hospital and I had gotten second degree frostbite. I cried a lot that day because I was terrified they were going to amputate my toes because they were almost black haha but all was good and my foot healed over the next month or so. It was an interesting first NYE to say the least.
here are a couple pics that made it through the night (the blurry one's my favorite, because that's how I remember that night lol)
