I'm not a believer in the zodiac or astrology in general, but I do follow -very loosely- the coming and going of the Chinese 12-animal zodiac. It seemed fitting that 2020 was the year of the Rat, an animal historically associated with plague and pandemic, and 2021 was the year of the Ox, an animal known for its patience among burdens, travails and adversity.
Now, Chinese 2022 is just around the corner - and it's not merely the year of the Tiger, it's the year of the Water Tiger. Since the five elements fire, water, earth, wood, and metal alternate, a specific "element animal" comes around only every 60 years. As I was born in 1962, this is the only time in my lifetime that the year of the Water Tiger comes around again, so I'm fully expecting this to be a special year, hopefully in a good way!
