I wonder how many of our Brazilian SGs, Hopefuls and members are aware of the influential landscape artist and designer Roberto Burle Marx? He is probably best known for his design of the Copacabana promenade in Rio, the Parque Ibirapuera in SP, and much of the landscape design in Brasília. I've been fascinated by his work, which is in the "Brazilian Modernist" tradition represented by architect Oscar Niemeyer. Happily, there's an exhibition here in Berlin right now, which I'm going to see next week. Oh, and of course Groucho is my other favorite Marx ;-)
